Today, in the Tour of California prologue, Lance Armstrong made his comeback and finished 10th. "It's a new sensation because I haven't trained for efforts like that," Armstrong said after completing the 3.9-kilometer course around California's state Capitol. The prologue was won by Fabian Cancellara. Cancellara, a former two-times time trial world titlist, won in 4:32.9 seconds, with American Levi Leipheimer, twice defending race champion, second in 4:34.11. Third was American David Zabriskie in 4:35.55.

Well, for a trial prologue, that's a usual time difference.

I understand that that is not unusual for a tt, but what is impressive for me is that he took a couple of years off and is still keeping pace with the best TT rider in the world. (I am trying to think of a TT that Cancellara hasn't won) My point was I was expecting him to be in double digits down (like 10-20 seconds) and just sort of mixed in with the field.

Mancebo took the first stage. It was nuts. He was out there in the rain by himself most of the day. Two other guys made it to the line with him and he still outsprinted them. Great race. Talk about leading from the front.
