Today I read this piece of news on a magazine and am sharing with you. In the troubled northern borders of Pakistan Taliban believe that music corrupts and hence have imposed a ban on the playing of music and also threatened suicide attacks against those bus drivers who played music and movies for the sake of entertainment of their passengers. They have also banned girls education and imposed restrictions on girls movement without male escorts. Hundreds of girls school have been razed to the ground and hundreds of them set on fire. Tears rolled down my checks while reading this, i am a musician and i know what music means to everyone and why so much torture for being born a girl for these people. What do you think about this?, Isn't painful?

That is what Islam has to say about Music.Music is blasphemous. You are not supposed sing to the Lord.It is only the rebel group called Sufis in India who introduced music as part of their relationship with God. The way the Koran is to be recited has to particularly non-musical for according to Islam music corrupts. The idea that they want to express is that music or a musically oriented person could be kind to people and that is exactly what they want to exclude from their personality. It is only then that one could without batting an eyelid do things like banning education for girls.

I can't believe that. what are they hoping to accomplish by doing these things? I am a Christian, and I must admit, there have been many people who have done some terrible things in the name of Christianity. There have also been many great people who have done great things in the name of Christianity. I just think this is further proof that our world is broken and that it's becoming more and more broken by the day. I am also a musician and the art of music has been something that has been a part of humanity for many many generations. Taking away music, and education to women just sounds to me like the taliban are fearful of losing control. There is no way we can relate to what these people are going through, but we can pray for them.

Sexism is painful. Expressed prejudice in the form of violent discrimination. I would be curious to know what magazine? I have heard about the male escorts... I do not understand.... How to enlighten the ignorant? That is the question...the answer...may be our solution...

Painful puts it pretty mildly. Given that it's coming from the Taliban, it doesn't surprise me since they're fanatics. It also doesn't surprise me that they're still around.
