On the news...

I was watching 20/20 a few weeks ago and this story came on that horrified me. A parole officer and his wife retired onto a boat called the Well Deserved. After about a year and a half, they discovered that they missed their family and decided to return to land. They were selling the boat. This couple came on board to look at the boat and forced them to sign over the boat and threw them in the ocean. They drowned. This is one of those things that makes me think, "what is the world coming to?" What do you think when you hear such stories? I swear this is why I've stopped watching the news regularly.

I also don't like hearing this kind of stories because it affects me in a way. It is very seldom now that you have a good news for the main story. The worst stories always comes out on top. But going back to your story I do not understand what mental state these kind of people are in. A lot of prayers are needed these days so that this won' happen again.

I totally agree with you on this. I usually turn the television on in the morning as I am getting ready for work as I like to be informed as to what is happening and see what the weather is going to be like but lately I have been watching other things in the morning because I find that news is all full of the worst in people.
I find that lately waking up and seeing how bad our world is today first thing is the morning can sometimes be depressing and I do not want that first thing. I see how bad things are getting each and everyday and I guess I just do not want to start my day that way. I try to watch more and night and I never seize to be amazed as to how bad and mean people can be. Just when I think I've heard something bad and horrile and that someone could not do worse, there comes the next piece with a more horrific and terrible story. My heart goes out to all the victims and how they never imagined another human being would do this to them. Our world has become so cold and unpersonal. Evey now and then there is a story about something or someone that is good or does something good and selfless and that gives me hope that maybe someday there will be enough good to conquer the evil but until then all we could do is hope and try hard to be one of those selfless people.
Take Care Everyone
