The big three automakers told washington today they will need ANOTHER 21.6 Billion and they are cutting 50,000 jobs by the end of the year. So how exactly is the stimulus plan "saving jobs"? How is it stimulating the economy? I mean really. How can we justify giving them billions of dollars when all we the tax payers are going to get for it is more people unemployed. Tell me what you think. Should they get the money sense they are putting so many people out of work?

Yes please take more from us, the US taxpayers, we all know that we are a never ending pot of money. How is it stimulating the economy, well it is going to stimulate the economy the same way the Obama/Pelosi/Reid wish list is going to stimulate the economy, by lining the wallets of the special interest and lobbyist. The only dime that the three big deserve from me is when they convince me to buy one of their automobiles.

Man, I am have spent so much time ticked off at this irresponsible spending spree that I am starting to get numb. I can not believe that our gov is going to give them more.Well I can not believe they are going to give of them (banks, ect) anymore money. It is just throwing good money after bad away. I would say they are just dumb and do not know any better....but that is just not the case. They are selling us out and robbing us. Our own gov. I have raged and ranted and screamed. But where is the rest of the population. We should be in mass droves in the streets protesting this nightmare. But are they? No. The population as a whole is allowing this to happen so they are just as much at fault as our elected officials. Where is the outrage? Where is the passion? I am not seeing it on a mass scale, are you?

Shouldn't we be getting free cars from the big three? I mean, we ARE paying for them. Heck, federal employees are getting hybrids thanks to the C ongressional R elief A ction P rogram So why aren't we getting cars or at least a discount based on the approximate amount of our money they've already piddled away?

"So how exactly is the stimulus plan "'aving jobs'?" I'd like to know that myself. I blame the unions, but I blame the auto makers for falling into the trap to begin with. In truth, I blame the government for interfering. If they would let some companies go bust or figure out how to play the game of capitolism, we'd all be better off. If the auto makers can't figure out how to cut expenses, they should suffer, not be rewarded by the consumers they're trying to dupe.

It makes me sick but I don't think that this is the last time that they will be putting their hands out and I don't think that this is the last time that we will give them more money. The thing that annoys me is that I think that the job cuts aren't really going to solve the problem. These companies handcuffed themselves when they agreed to give their retirees health care benefits among other things. There's also some kind of policy that when someone gets laid off they get paid for 2 years. The unions were greedy and an inept management caved in to all of those demands while at the same time producing low quality cars that no one wants to buy. American taxpayers will be paying for all of these stimulus packages through three or more generations. Unbelieveable.

I could use a billion dollars too! Heck if the Government were to give me a billion dollars I bet I could probably create more jobs than they could. All of this bailing out is just crazy! Auto companies, Banks, let em' all go under. I work for a bank (which I wouldn't mind if it went under) and process loan applications and let me tell you, 80K a year to spray paint for GM, give me a break! I see situations like this all the time. These companies can't make ends meet and need our help to bail them out while they continue to waste money and overpay a lot of their workers. Nationalize the banks! let the automakers go bankrupt! It's time for our government to start making these companies pay for their mistakes instead of bailing them out. Agree anyone?
