Nintendo released the DSi in Japan last year on November 1st. Some major differences are a camera on the front and inside, improved speakers, SD card slot, and the removal of the Gameboy Advance slot. Can it compete against the market dominating iPod touch and iPhone in the portable music player (MP3 player) market or will it not be enough? Is this the all-in-one portable entertainment device for music, movies, and games along with a camera? My opinion is that it is a new approach to the portable gaming market. It is the first portable game system to include a camera (unless you consider the iPhone a "portable game system"). It does not seem to be selling as much as the original DS or the more popular and recent DS Lite, but maybe it is due to the recession.
