I see so many soap makers wearing safety goggles while soaping, it's seems like i'm the only one without goggles.
If you're careful with the lye you don't need goggles.
Do you wear goggles when soaping?

Yes but accidents happen what if someone had an accident near you but it caught your eyes but they were safe how would you feel then?
Safety goggles are there not just to protect you from your OWN mistakes/accidents but also other peoples.

I just bought a pair of safety goggles to protect my eyes in case something goes wrong, I don't hope so!

The lye is very caustic, it will burn the eye if lye splashes into it.

As I am sure you know, lye can burn you. Imagine how that would feel on your eyes. Safety goggles are a safety precaution. I would be wearing them if I were you. Yu would hate to have something happen and have your sight lost as a result. I don't care how careful everyone is, things happen and sometimes, they can't be prevented. Better to be safe than to be sorry.
