World government

What are the chances of there ever being a world government on this planet? Happenings in Bosnia and Rwanda and the Middle East have me skeptical that such a thing could ever come to pass.

It is certainly possible that social laws will be universal so that nothing can be hidden from view. We could see a future where we all have to accept certain lack of privacy in trade for protection in other words the criminal actions of another will be exposed and a greater burden of proof will follow due to the ample ability to produce actual facts. The technology can prevent blind corruption. This would be good for the world.

The way it is now they are allowing a lot of abuse instead of looking forward to the possibility of preventing abuse. At some point the victims of abuse need to be heard... What prevents a person from being heard, including the fright of speaking to someone like a judge with so much power to take all of your freedoms away, if in the short run we only look to tomorrow and we don't see what is going to happen next week, next month, six months or years down the road. We only need to look in at the facts to see the real truth, and I have a lot of facts and I'm collecting a few more. This isn't even all about camera's this is public material. Hard to collect and harder to get into the right hands of the correct agency. If only people were all working together instead of allowing victims to be constantly abused. That is a paradigm shift that is still in the works if it will ever move, I have to wonder some days... I'm working on it.

Some judges are part of the problem, unfortunately. They learn not to believe people and sometimes they don't when they should. Among other things...

Kind of off the topic but I remember a Science Fiction story where everything was recorded. There were some pretty strict rules for accessing the information (ie a crime had to have been committed, there had to be cause to believe the person being recorded was involved, etc.). One the one hand, that might solve a lot of our problems. On the other, talk about possibilities for abuse!!!

I've heard that they are still trying to accomplish this anyway... that is why the currency is all the same in Europe and they are planning for an 'Amero' for Canada, America, and Mexico... they say. I don't know though.

Probably true but I suspect that there are things (such as national pride) that are going to make it difficult for it to happen.

Hope not, too many beautiful things on this planet that would be destroyed!

That's true... maybe they'll mass destruct the whole planet before we even get there.

I think the chances of a World Government are slim to nothing. Indeed, things are going in the opposite direction with major countries breaking up. The Soviet Union being the most recent major example of this trend. It's not impossible that the UK will go the same way as well.

Not just the UK... I think in the short run you are right. But many years in the future, who knows?

So I'm a pessimist.

Hi dawnald, I believe it will happen and probably faster than many people think. There is a change coming about in the world, more and more people are beginning to realize that we are all one. What helps one helps all, what hurts one hurts all. We are all children of the universe and are here to help each other. It is time for a world government and for people to start thinking of themselves as citizens of the world. Blessings.

I hope that it will happen. There are some hopeful signs and others that are not so hopeful. Only time will tell, I guess.

a world government would be great. but NATO and the UN could not agree with each other. it is not govenment or regional differences that make the world different. it is the folly of religion. east v west? christianity v muslim. It has always come down to religion.

Religion has a lot to do with it but there are other things as well. Matters of national pride and old hatreds and so on...

It is possible some, people believe that every action in the world is a step towards a one world government and that every action is well timed and planned. A New World Order could sooner than we think or it could be a conspiracy theorists dream.

I think it's a dream, at least in the short run, but possibly one worth working towards.

It would be a nice thought, bringing stability and balance to the world but others would disagree. Have a read at this site about some views on a one world government, it is a interesting read and it does get you thinking. http://www.threeworldwars.com/new-world-order.htm
