I don't know if anyone remembers me posting a discussion about my son not walking, but he's started walking within the last two weeks. He's still working out the kinks, but things will come with time. It still surprises me to see him walking somestimes. He's been crawling for so long, it startles me to see him walking, but it's a happy surprise.

That is great!! NOw, the real fun begins. Be ready to chase him constantly and have to tell him "No, No" alot!! Seriously, I am very happy for you, when a bab walks for the first time, it brings the parent a lot of joy. I think that those first steps ar very precious, and a lot of fun!

I already was playing that game when he was crawling. Besides, we also have a 4-year-old, so this is not a new game for both of us. However, it is going to be unique in itself since our 4-year-old is a girl, and this one is a boy. That's a whole different ball of wax.

I suppose the only difference between our two boys is your son started about when he was suppose to. My son is almost 19-months-old. He's a little bit of a late bloomer. He'll catch up though.

My daughter walked a little late too... she was about 16 months. The good part about this is that she was instantly stable, we never had the falling and crashing accidents that a lot of very small toddlers experience, like the ones who start walking when they are 9 or 10 months old. My house is primarily tile and we have a bricked fireplace, so I was always concerned about falls and injuries. She NEVER got hurt from falling, well, not until AFTER she had learned how to run lol.

That's good. I know it feels as if they'll never get there, but I'm sure you'll get to a time soon when you won't remember a time before he was walking! My daughter walked quite late, I think it was because she crawled so fast, she didn't really see the point. All her friends were towering above her on two legs, while she whizzed past them on four (well, you know what I mean, lol!) When they start being mobile is when you really have to watch them like a hawk, and I remember thinking "why was it that I was so keen for her to move around? It was so much easier when I could just leave her in one place, leave the room for something and know she'd still be sitting there when I got back!" A playpen was one of our wisest purchases, lol! On the other hand, it's sooo sweet to see them toddling along!

I'll have do catch him sometime. We never seem to think about getting a camera of some kind until after the things has happened.
