This discussion could go under eating or driving or even shopping so hopefully folks can find it even though it's in the general category. Yesterday I called Miyako to order some sushi to go and while heading to the restaurant it occured to me how unique this place might be not just to the city but to the rest of the country. What sets this particular restaurant apart from the rest of the Japanese eateries in town is that it open later than most places and it has a drive through window! I LOVE it! Now, New Orleans is probably the only place you can go to a drive through daiquiri shop (no lie!) but drive through sushi was a new one for me. When I first heard about it I wondered what kind of quality there could be from such a place but I was surprised to find the food was pretty good. I know in Vegas there are supposed to be places where you can drive up to those quickie wedding chappels and some of the Walgreens stores here have drive up pharmacies. Most of us have experienced drive-up banking and fast food and have been truly grateful on those days when we really didn't want to have to get out of the car. I am one of those nostalgic folk who misses the drive-in movie, though I wouldn't want to go in extreme weather. I am curious to know, are there any cool, unique or interesting drive-up businesses where you live?

I can't say that there is any unusual drive thrus that I can think of around here. Though I do appreciate having them for the convenience as well as on especially rainy days or very cold days and don't have to get out into the elements to get what you want.

Well, if people who patronize it are responsible they will pick up something to take home or get party supplies. It's not like they are buying a drink like the daiquiri place here. Interesting that it exists though.
