Mysterious chirping sounds

So I am sitting in front of the computer and I have just responded to a discussion on choosing a nail polish color and all of a sudden I hear this beeping sound. It almost sounds like an alarm and doesn't seem to be coming from my computer but there is no other electronic device anywhere in the area so I cam trying to figure out what is this noise and where is it coming from and is my computer about to go crazy.
I discover it is coming through the speaker so it's something to do with the software or the page but I can't see anything like video or animation of any kind on the page I am viewing that would be making this noise. It goes on for another minute or so and then mysteriously stops.
Has this ever happened to you?

Yea had the same experience and found out its the advert from mylot. The one saying you won stuff like that. It was creepy at first and I can hear it clearly because my environment is quiet. hehehe

It's such a ridiculous noise! Why they would choose that type of sound that would make you think something was wrong is beyond me!

Yeah i get that sometimes. i think its coming from my aim. When people log on or off they have their own sound that they have chosen to use. So when i tun off my aim i dont hear it anymore. i also get jet airplane which also comes from aim it scares the heck out of me. lol

That's what I was going to suggest, someone on my buddy list has that, too, and it freaks me out every time they sign in or out! And my poor dog goes nuts, LOL.

a jet plane noise would drive me nuts. For one, it would scare the crap out of you! That slamming door is bad enough.
