what child molesting priests are to the Catholic Church.
The Catholic Church is not defined by child molesting priests, but they are leaders in the church, leaders whose actions bring shame to the church as a whole.
Michael Steele does not define the Republican National Committee, but his complete incompetence does nothing but bring shame to the RNC. On his website, he thanks the Republicans who helped him become chairman of the RNC by stating...
"Your ideas, your energy, your principles, your spirit, your innovations - that's how YOUR RNC will take back our majorities from the courthouse to the White House."
That statement sums up Michael Steele pretty well. He has no values, core principles or morals. His only purpose as chairman is doing whatever it takes to win majorities, corrupt our courts and win the White House.
It used to mean something to be a Republican because the party stood for something. Now it only cares about winning.. and is doing a piss poor job of it.
As long as Republicans consider Michael Steele a leader, I see no reason to consider myself a Republican or donate to the Republican Mafia. Both the major parties should be investigated under RICO because they are both criminal organizations.

Dude, I think you're going way overboard. I understand your concern, but part of his job is to help get republicans elected. If I were him, I'd probably focus more on speaking about how the republican party needs to show Americans what they really stand for, less restrictive government, lower taxes, equal opportunity for everyone without preferential treatment, and most importantly, freedom. Either way, you need to give the guy a chance instead of comparing him to pedophiles based on one single sentence.

I don't think he's gone overboard at all. I understand it is Steele's job to get republicans elected, but as far as them standing up for the party ideology, they are all talk, no walk now. They were suposed to be the party of civil liberty and fiscal responsability yet most all of them, including bus, supported the patriot act and TARP. Ok, so the pedophile things was a bit much but I got his point

"They were supposed to be the party of civil liberty and fiscal responsibility yet most all of them, including bus, supported the patriot act and TARP."
You're right. The party failed miserably in that. It's that failure that caused many on the fence to jump on the Obama bandwagon thinking it couldn't get any worse. It did. I must correct you though, the majority of republicans were against TARP. McCain and Bush signed on to it, but I think about 2/3 of republicans opposed it. I'll check the numbers later.

Exactly Taskr. Which is why I am taking the idiot running the RNC to task and not the rank and file Republican... of which I no longer consider myself.

Honestly, the Republican Party seems to be turning in to a party that I can no longer support. Lately I have been voting for Republicans simply because it was a vote against the Democrats, not because I really wanted the candidates that they were offering. True conservatism has completely disappeared, and sometimes I don't even think I can tell the difference between the parties anymore! It seems increasingly like politicians don't stand for anything but getting more money and more power, and they will go wherever the wind blows to get those things. It sickening. We put the running of our country or city or party or whatever else in the hands of these scumbags. The American people need to wake up.
