As you may have read, I was looking for a new floor stand. I tried out the Stitcher's Wonder but wasn't happy with it, so took it back to Michael's. Then I saw a rather simple solution on the Sew and So site... the Stitchmaster floor stand. Not only did it look like it would be perfect for my needs, but it was relatively inexpensive AND they took PayPal.
I ordered it on Friday (Feb 27) and it arrived this morning (Tues March 3)... 4 days from Stoud, U.K. to Hamilton, Ontario Canada! Not bad!
I put it together and it's perfect! It's solid hardwood, well finished and sturdy. Even the wingnuts are heavy gauge. It works with any style of frame, scroll or hoop, because the frame just rests on the two arms: it is not held by any kind of clamp. Which makes it very easy to flip to work on the back. They even supplied a "tightener"... a finished block of wood that fits over the wingnuts and makes it ever so easy to tighten them. I love it!
