I need help. There are soooo many different breast pumps to choose from out there. I bought an Avent Isis, but after surfing the web, I have found a couple more that sound really interesting to me. One of them is the Whittlestone Manual, and the other is the Dr. Brown's. They both seem to be engineered more towards expression than vacuuming. I have tried a few of the cheaper pumps with my other children, and they not only caused discomfort, they just plain hurt. I don't want to waste my money this time around. I don't have a whole lot of it. I can still take the Avent pump back because I haven't opened it yet. What pumps have worked best for you? I think I am leaning more towards manual than electric, but I am open to suggestion. Are there any pumps out there that I should stay away from? And which ones are the best value?

I've used an Avent Isis and I liked it - I'm not much into pumping .... but I have a friend that used it a lot and she liked it as well.
I think it's hard to say which is the best since I belive it differs from person to person. I like the fact that you can pump into the bottle, but if you'll do that all the time - and pump more than one bottle at the time - you'll need several (often expensive) bottles from just one brand.
