Is it really over?

I've lived in my new home just about a week now, and thus far it's been nothing but hectic!
When we moved in all our pipes were froze. We had running water in the bathtub, but the drain was froze so the water just stayed in the tub. The guys got that fixed on Monday, but I didn't have running water in the kitchen until Wednesday!
Finally I was able to bathe my kids (and myself!) and do dishes. But I still had no washer/dryer hook ups.
Those were finally installed on Friday, the guy left here about 9pm Friday night (after having let all 3 of my cats escape through a hole in the floor he'd left unattended numerous times, hubby and I stayed up until 1am trying to get the cats back).
So, Saturday I finally started doing laundry. I did about 3 loads, but on the 3rd load all the water draining from the washer was backing up into my bathroom. It overflowed the toilet, and then the toilet drained into the bathtub. Anytime we flushed the toilet, it would go directly into the tub. If we used any sink, the water would first go into the toilet, then into the tub.
By the end of Saturday my bathtub was full of feces!!
The maintenance guy could do nothing about it at the time. He had a nasty stomach bug. However he did show up first thing this morning. Apparently there was a horrible clog in the line, right where my line meets the main pipes. He said it could have come from any home in this community, unfortunatly since I'm at the end of the drainage line, my house will be the first to back up! Yay for me!
So, I'm finally able to do laundry, which has been piling up for over a week. I was unable to do dishes all weekend due to the drainage issues, so those have been piling up. And now that the tub is drained and cleaned, we're able to bathe and shower. Phew! What a hassle!
So now a small part of me is very relieved that these problems are all taken care of, but I can't help but to wonder if something else is soon to go wrong.
Have you ever felt like you couldn't be relieved because you wondered if something else would go wrong next?

I'm taking most of it rather well. We had worse problems in the last house, and they weren't so easily fixed. We ended up paying a lot of money in the last house to get some of the problems fixed. Actually most of the problems were similar. We had no water for various reasons, we had clogged drains, we had to pay plumbers to fix the pipes to get water, and pay other plumbers to jet the lines so the tub would drain. So I guess because I've been through it before, and this time its not costing me a dime to have it taken care of, and it's being taken care of much faster than last time, that makes it easier to handle. I've only had a few moments of flipping out!

Oh wow! You have had a really rough first week in your new home. I think I would be paranoid now and be having those thoughts you mentioned. You didn't say if you had bought the home or are you renting? I'm hoping for the latter so you won't be responsible for all the repairs or expenses! Good luck and try to enjoy your new home!

It is a mobile home that we purchased, but we're living in a mobile home community. So some of the problems are our responsiblity, and some are the park's responsiblity. Luckily so far the park has had to fix all our problems, and will continue to do so for awhile.

Wow, you have had one heck of a week. I'm glad to hear they finally have gotten things straightened out. I couldn't imagine having someone in my home doing work and trying to keep my kids out of their way. You must have been going nuts. I know what you mean though about being afraid to relax because as soon as you do something else ends up going wrong. That is how our life goes most the time it seems. I hope things go well for you from here on out.

The one maintenance guy who did most of the work was a total slob. His tools were all over my house, he kept leaving the area that he was working in unattended. My kids could have gotten hurt, luckily I took precautions and did my best to keep the kids out of there. Unfortunatly I couldn't keep the cats out of there, so they did manage to escape which really had me fuming!

I always tell myself that things go wrong in threes. So if four things have gone wrong then I lump two together to make three, and if only two have gone wrong then I stub my toe on the wall or something to make three! Stupid, or what?!
Look at it this way, at least all of these problems are getting sorted out in the first week. Now you know that everything is maintained and working well for the future.

Hey kats! Wow! What a bad start you've had! Didn't anyone
live there before you? Or was the house just vacant for a
long time? Well, at least now all the stuff has been fixed!
I know what you mean about wondering what will happen next!
I would feel like that too! It's kind of a scary feeling!
But, I think that things will probably go ok from this point
on! So just give it a few days and I think you will start
being able to relax and get used to your new home! There are
always some problems even when you move into a brand new house.
A fellow mylotter friend moved into a brand new house recently
and he has problems too so don't feel bad!

This used to be the rental office, but I guess they replaced absolutely everything once the office took over a different trailer. So all my plumbing lines were brand new, and we moved in on a very cold day, so they all froze.

things come in 3's. They always have for us. For me, anyways. When I ran with 2 other girls, what would hit one of us generally made its way around to the others within a month. Like car problems. So if you've had 3 bad things, you should be clear!
