I've a lot of flowers etc that I had forgot to trim back before the freeze arrived. Over the weekend I did get some trimmed to the ground to allow growth this spring. Have you forgotten to trim/prune back the dead stalks etc of any of your flowers etc? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Usually I forget, but it doesn't harm most plants. My best excuse has been every few yrs is that I had a baby right about that time and was in no mood to do it & by the time I was there was snow on the ground *LOL*

I hear ya but it's usually no big deal depending on the plant. Plus it's easier to cut last years growth in spring then while the plant is just starting to shut down for winter.

Yes, I was very bad last fall and didnt go out there and trim anything, come a good spring day I will be out there cutting back what didnt get done...LOL, and it will be alot of work too. I have about 27 daylillies and quite a few hostas... but for the most part it is the lillies that are going to cause me alot of work...LOL but then I plan to overhaul the yard and kinda redo a bunch so it will all work out... happy planting!!

It's still winter over my way about two weeks ago it felt like Spring, so I took advantage of pulling out the leaves from my rose bush on a warm day. Hopefully, it'll bloom on time.

I'm surprised that you forgot to do something like that AGB! I think our Fuschia bushes still need pruned back as does the clematis arch - shall have to get David onto it soon although it is still frosty and cold here so there is time! xxxx

No, there are no plants or flowers that have been forgotten about when it comes to trim/prune. Since it don't really get that cold here our plants thrive most all year round and can tend to them as needed.

Hi GRANDPA BOB, It has be such a waful winter a long one at that that I haven't been able to go out and trim my plants, my rose needs a lot of trimming at the top but I cannot reach it and my husband is too busy to go out and do it but when it gets a little milder I should be going out and get a ladder out to do it. It might seem strange to you with the weather you're having, but I have snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils blooming profusely in my garden. I don't do anything to them, but I do prune the roses and shrubs back. It won't be long before they're sprouting now... I can't wait for the Mock Orange, Azaleas and Roses to come, and even the Honeysuckle whose scent hangs on the summer evening air. Brightest Blessings my friend.

I've got a few flowers I need to trim back on, I've got alot of rose bushes too. I have these two hyacinth plants that have bloomed out, they are a pretty purple, since we had this cold snap happen last night, I looked at them this morning, and they're not looking so good right now..haha. I don't know if they got frozen or not..alot of things around are starting to bloom, our trees are getting little buds on them too.
