You're back in the dating game. You've decided that you want to be smarter about it this time around. You're making a list. You're checking it twice. Some things, you've decided, are just deal breakers. What are those things? And are they different from what would have been deal breakers last time around?

I haven't dated since I was 16, over 50 years ago so I would have a very different take on the question then most of the others. I'll enjoy reading those. Blessings

Mine would be a lot different from 16 also. At 16 I really had NO clue whatsoever.

I was out of the dating scene for a long time, and it was down right scary getting back into it in middle age. My only criteria this time around were, no drinking buddies, no gambling buddies, and a dedicated work ethic. I figured the rest would be easier as I was old enough and experienced enough to have learned the art of compromise..............I was partially right! LOL

I bet it's scary (whimpering)... If I were there, I'd be taking a lot longer to get to know the person I think.

I dated my current hubs for over six months before we did the bedspring polka. You'd a thunk we'd have gotten to know each other pretty well by then, having the advantage of mature judgment..................HA!

According to the nice counselor lady, 6 months is where the real personality traits start showing through. Next time make him wait a year!

If I dated again it would have to be on the basis that she is the boss! It's such a pain having to do all the running! LOL. Whatever happens, I'd say enjoy it.

Once big one for me at 25 would be they have to not live with their parents. Maybe that sounds shallow but it really bothers me when someone my age is still living at home. They don't have to be a millionaire in a mansion but mommy and daddy can't be their landlords. Another one is personal hygiene, I couldn't be with a grubby smelly guy. Also they cannot say 'I seen' instead on 'I saw'. I guess that sounds nit picky but it just completely turns me off. I'm sure there are others but those are the ones that immediately spring to mind.

The grammar thing would have bothered me once upon a time. But I have discovered a few online friends with awful grammar who are really very smart people. Still, in a relationship, dunno...

Um... so the fact that my hubby's parents were our landlords when he was 34 is a big no no for you, huh? No I'm just kidding! I know what you mean.

Ya, I meant landlords in a figurative sense, unfortunately for you guys it was literal!

Even though I went through a bad break up, I think the list is still the same as last time with more expectations! Never going to settle for less again.
