Tagging Discussions

What is the purpose of tagging our discussions? Maybe this is a dumb question, but I really want to know because I am not sure why we do it.

When someone searches for a discussion, mylot look into tags in the previous discussions. By looking into tags, it gives result. Hence, if you tags your discussions appropriately, it will be easier to any body to find your thread and in this way your discussion may get posting many days after it was initially posted.

Oh, I see. That makes perfect sense! I did not think about searching for a specific topic of discussion, but I can see where it is good to have that capability. That way you can find discussions that you are more interested in responding to. Thanks for your comment! I should have known that.
