Just got pointed to this by a blog-buddy. www.authonomy.com - authors can chat and post their work. Editors and publishers (!!) visit, read and comment. Might be a bit of a step into the world of being published, if you're ready for it. I had a really quick look and it seems like it's well-organised and has some serious weight to it. Maybe worth bookmarking.

I'll have to take a look. I'm wary of large writing forums though and much prefer the little one I belong to. Less likely to get lost and forgotten that way. The larger ones tend to have member with a bug up the rear and crappy attitudes, but I'll give it the chance it could be different.

LOL, great description of forum members there! I had a look at some of the comments posted by one of their top readers/editors and I was pleasantly surprised: they were very helpful. Constructive criticism and all that. Still, I suspect they have their fair share of turds-in-suits.
