Hey Mylotters, are you familiar with MagicJack? A phone device attached to the USB port of your computer; and you also need to connect the phone cord to the MagicJack to get your phone service work. The total charge is about $19.95 a year. That is one year deal. A lot cheaper than your local phone company charging you now.
You will get clear voice, and it is free to call anywhere in the U.S. and Canada.
Enough of advertising here. I do have one question though. Do you need to run the computer while connecting the MagicJack to the USB port? Because it does need the Fast - Internet connection. Anyone using it recently?

Hi, I am familiar with MagicJack although I am not using it.
I think that MagicJack is such a deal as far as cost goes that it is hard to pass up.
A great option for VOIP.
Obviously you must have your modem and (if using) router plugged in so to power your Magic Jack, otherwise you wont be able to make or receive calls.
If you go ahead and employ MagicJack, please message me and let me know how you find it working for you.
