gold fish as a pet

Hello friend i leave in hostel for study purpose.I like pets more but pets are not allowed in hostel than i thought that i would buy two gold fish and set them in my reading desk.I have not yet know about fishes but i think they are better than dogs and cats because they can`t sound and it will not effect on hostel caretaker.On the other hand i can play with the fishes and they are too good looking also.
Now you tell me that have i another choice for choosing another pets for me in hostel.I know that fishes are not perfect as a pet but i think i have no second choice to choose another one.Thanks

I think for places with pet restrictrions, I think having an aquarium is quite ok. you don't really have to settle for gold fish though, you have opt to take care of different kinds of fish. I think you can also consider having a turtle pet.
