Do You Have A Library Of A Shelf Of Books?

How many books do you have . . . approximately? Do you have a small, or even a large, library in your home? How long did it take to build your collection of books? Perhaps you have book shelves throughout your house or bedroom. Have you read every book you own? Just a few interesting questions.

one of the things that I wanted as a child was to have a real library a full room with books, I collected many books over the years and I also gave so many of them away as well. I now have about 50 books or so, and I might be getting rid of some of those as well, as I do not have the space for them anymore.

Saw your answer here. We both have the same dream. I too always envisioned a "real" library as well...the kind you see in a typical English manor home with deep rich wood paneling. I have books crammed all over the place as it is...look at my answer below...I have well over several thousand books...books I've collected over the years going all the way back to college, and even beyond. I even have my original copy of The Secret Garden I got as a kid. Believe it or not, I actually gave away 100s of books some years ago and I still have a lot leftover..just can't part with them

exactly we actually connected here, that was my dream too, the english library, I wanted wall to wall. I also wanted an english rose garden, did you ever want one of those. I just love the bronte sisters, well you know my work is inspired by charles dickens, and John steinbeck, but I love the victorian era, it was so romantic, if you left out the poverty part of it.

I would love to have a garden...period. One of my favorite types of architecture is English Tudor style--a large library would fit well with that type of architecture

I have books all over the place in here. The shelf that is supposed to be full of books is actually full of other things, and the books are in drawers, piled up on tables, on desks, on the floor, everywhere where I can find a space to put them. LOL I am the most disorganized person in Canada!

Oh no, the most disorganized person in Canada? You're too funny! I might have a couple of Canadian friends who will challenge you for that title. Well, as long as you have a book shelf there is always hope those books will find a home soon. I'm just sayin'.

OH boy I don't even know how many books I have. We have lots of books and since although we have some we all like, we also have different tastes, there are all kinds of books in this house LOL We have 3 full bookshelves, plus in each room each one of us has another full bookshelf - and it keeps growing. I haven't read every book because I don't share all the tastes. But I did read the majority of books that we own. Some books we even have them in more than one language. For example some I read first while I was still back home, so they are in Portuguese. Then I got here that same book in English. And then, whenever I can or am able to read it I tend to try and find the book in its original language, so I often end up with the same book in 3 or 4 languages LOL.

The woman asks do I have a library? LOL... Oh boy do I ever. In the one hallway leading to the bathroom I have floor to ceiling bookcases crammed full of books..these are mainly my science books, history books (all mainly in hardcover)---many are my old books from college days. The very top shelves of these bookcases have my fiction books. I have all the bookshelves of the bookcases arranged according to subject btw. I use my linen closet as extra book shelf space..only one shelf is devoted to towels and sheets. Then there's the "knick knack" shelf area in the main hallway also crammed with books mainly ones related to Native American history (at least 100 books there alone)---then I have a bookcase in my bedroom crammed with books and last year I got a new captain's bed with a bookcase headboard....yes that has books in it too..I would say all total without exaggeration I have several thousand books all total. As far as reading them all...I'm working on it So yeah....I have a "few" books...

I have over 1000 books. I currently have two floor to ceiling bookshelves which are full, with all the shelves double booked. I've also got another 15 boxes of books in storage for when I eventually get another bookshelf or two. One entire shelf is for books I've still yet to read - all the others are books that I have read and have decided to keep. On top of this, I also have several piles of books that are for bookcrossing. I thought when I joined bookcrossing, it would help me to get rid of some of my books, but it seems to feed my addiction, rather than helping!

I am currently colecting kids books so that when I begin teaching next year I will have some to put in my classroom. I have found ebay to be a great place to buy them. Perhaps you might consider selling the ones you do not want there.

My fiance and I only have a few books we call our own. Of those books there are atleast six books we need new copies of. I got a few books from my great grandmother when she passed and the books are very fragile so we try not to use those, although we have used one and read from it, and are planning to get another copy so we can leave the other one be. i hope to have atleast a tall bookshelf full of books for my fiance and I.

I have over 100 books, most of which I have read. I have bookselfs in my kitchen, livingroom, both bedrooms, and books in each bathroom. I have books from childhood (about 20 years in my ownership) and antique books (the oldest being from the late 1800's) I buy books at garage sales and second hand shops but rarely new unless they are on sale. I will also collect the books that I want to read and place them on a shelf in the order I want to read them so that when I finish one I have an idea as to what is next. Have a great day!!
