What should the U.S. do differently? (that's doable)

There are many discussions meant to get the stimulus package working. There are also many opinions pin-pointing causes of the financial crisis. In your opinion, what should the U.S., under President Obama, do differently to strengthen the US economy in the long-term?

Its simple to me. See how the companies behaved through the financial crisis. The greed, the wasteful spending on huge bonuses, and products that consumers could not afford, or that were bad buys for today's economic climate. The same companies that have been given bonuses already, and failed. They are the same ones with their hands out. More. We need more. Its simple. Tell them no. Instead give those billions to the next market giants. That's how business works. You can't cut it anymore? Guess what? Too bad, someone is ready to replace you. Good bye old , hello new.

Thanks for the comments RedHotPogo. I can imagine a lot of companies now preparing fallback plans. Isn't it intriguing that the many companies will be barely afloat. e.g. I remember how Coke Co is trying to get into the fruit juice market in China. I only wish more people would be able to benefit fron the changes that are recently happening. WE know there are many reasons for this change. Which do you think is the biggest one? Cheers.

Perhaps the U.S. has lost it's monopoly on various fronts of the economy. There was a time when communication giants in the U.S. were in control of the pioneering markets globally. These days, products from India, China and Europe seem to overwhelm U.S. companies ... What else do you think the U.S. could try to do? Cheers
