RSD,Cancer,illness

Have we donated too much money to cancer leaving RSD and other medical problems lagging?

I believe that a lot of the little know medical disorders don't get enough attention. Until a year ago I had never heard of RSD. Until after a year of having a lot problems after a surgery that they told me I had RSD. The bad part is I live in little town so the doctor told to go home an get the information about RSD of the internet. It was really hard reading an know what I was in for with it. But I'm learning to live with what to come and I have loving husband that stands by me every inch of the way.

It does not make much difference in what town/city you live in.RSD is so poorly understood that many doctors do not accept its existance.In Canada(where I am)there is no major research being done and very few doctors who specialize in RSD patients. It is SO important to have some type of support net around you and I am glad your husband is trying to be supportive. My g/f has been diagnosed with RSD for over 10 years now and it still spreads today.Of course her doctor now blames everything she suffers from on RSD (it is now a catch-phrase for any new pains or symptoms she may have). There are a few online support groups and I hope soon RSD will be controlable for you and all others who suffer from it.

I had to look up RSD as I didnt know what it was = Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome - its a chronic neurological syndrome. http://www.rsds.org/2/what_is_rsd_crps/index.html Have we donated too much money to cancer leaving RSD and other medical problems lagging? I think the sad fact is that More funding is needed for every illness. Cancer is always thought of first as a charity to donate to as there are just so many different kinds of cancer and nearly every family has been touched or knows someone who has had a cancer of some sort.

Thank you for taking the time to look up RSD as that means one more person aware of it and knowledge of its existance is the place to begin. I guess our governments don't have money to waste on research as the budget is full of more important things like space exploration or new ways to kill people. Sorry about the sarcasm about the govt.
