AIG Executive's Bonuses

It is unbelievable that the guys should have drawn such high amounts of bonuses at this difficult time. And as a matter of fact, practice is prevailing that the senior executives always get bonuses for whatever performances. Higher bonuses if performance is favorable, and lower bonuses if unfavorable. But never penalties! another thing should be taken as a lesson. Why the government authorities are so slow to spot the fault, and is it something related with the overall system?

We would never fully understand how they go about their work but I do know is that they are really slow in spotting flaws. If the media wouldn't point it out, they wouldn't even look into it.
