I'm suffering from runaway imaginations now, very severe and dangerous condition.
I promise the cleaning woman in my company to write an article for her.
After thinking about it, I feel there is potential for 2 good creative articles. One is Rich in Gossips, since she's really a terrible gossiper.
Another is Most Powerful Woman in the Office. All bosses get out of their rooms when they see her coming.
Read Bethany article on Spider just now. All of a sudden I see a lady spinning a huge web to capture her men. Those who ever betrayed her will end up as her dinner. She will give birth to many female babies who can spin webs.
Sigh, all in the imaginations and so lazy to write.
More than 30 ideas still in the drawer. One of these days, I really must start writing!

Those are all very good ideas. I like the idea of the boss being seen as a spider. It does say a lot about the entire mythos behind the spider as knowledge. You might want to give that some serious thought because you could speak on layered levels. On the surface it's about a woman capturing men and eating them. In one layer it's about woman taking back her power from man, who cast her aside. Make sense? It's kind of the angle of the Woman in White or the crazy woman in the attic, very popular in 19th century English novels.
Good luck to you. Namaste-Anora

Woman in White is a nice story.
In the 19th century, the technology is not that advanced yet, the best that women can do to men who betray them are probably poisoning or murder the men and cook curry with their meat.
Now there're so many more ways.
How about a story about a woman working in the incinerator, she kills her man and throw the body into the incinerator. All evidences burn up by the fire.
This idea for you to work on! I'm too lazy to write.

I'm not speaking about the literal story woman in white. I'm speaking about the symbolic meaning of the woman in white or the crazy woman in the attic. It has nothing to do with what was available during that time period, it has to do with the idea that women writers were bringing out in stories in the 19th century. You begin to see the emergence of a woman who is deemed crazy because she starts to persue intellectual things, such that a man would typically only pursue. So, in your story I was suggesting that perhaps you dealt with this idea in a subtle manner through your use of the Spider woman who is eating men. Anyhow, I wish you well.
