What is the largest, tallest, longest, or bushiest houseplant that you have at the present time? This photo is of a fig tree I have. This has been around for maybe 10 years and it is roughly 4 feet tall or so. That is the tallest. The longest I have is an ivy that is about 25 to 30 feet long. What are yours?

How tall is the aloe vera?
I can't set mine outside for a long time as it's always too chilly at nights here in Minnesota.

I don't have any plants, first of all they die on me, and if one has the strength to live then my cats kill them, they eat them not them over etc, so I just don't bother with plants now for years.

I don't keep many houseplants here but I guess my tallest was a Yucca I had in Brighton which grew to about five feet, and a Mother-In-Law's Tongue I had in Germany, when I lived there. It grew over two feet tall and loved the sunny position it had on the windowsill looking out on the balcony. I don't think I could handle an ivy that long. Think I might have to loop it back and stick it back in the soil. lol.
Brightest Blessings.

I used to keep a hot chili plant indoors, but after a year, it wasn't much good... it went to seed. I collected the seeds but never planted them, as they needed to dry out some. I have them in a lidded tube actually so I ought to replant them this year. They spice my Chili Con Carne up some! lol. I also have one which is like a polyanthus but the leaves and flowers are bigger and the flower is a purplish blue. I don't know what it's called. It was a gift from a guy in the next village. :)

Why don't you have any? They are great as they add oxegyn to the air etc. Plus a pleasant view and some smell great also.

Mandy is the same way.
She kills weeds without trying.
Yet I can't get her over to weed my garden.
Yet she wants the fresh veggies.

That is a beautiful fig tree! My Ive never gets that long. It starts loosing its leaves by the time it reaches about 10 feet and I have to cut it back. The biggest plant I have right now I don't know what it is. It was a birthday gift and looks a little like a dracenea (sp). The biggest one I ever had was a Hoya. I finally put it in a 3 gallon bucket, made a cylindrical trellis of 3 foot hog wire and wrapped the "vines" around it. It was so full it looked like just one big plant.

As much as I love gardening, unfortunately I have none. I've tried through the years, but there's nothing my cats like better than when I bring a 'salad bar' home for them. Afraid that something won't be good for them, I stick to growing kitty grass in the house.

I contemplated inventing an answer to this one AGB but oyu would have known I was lying and I am no good at that! lol We have very few plants in our house but I think the most hardy plant ever has to be the bamboo plant that Niamh has - it is still alive after more than a year, which in itself is quite a miracle! xxx

I guess my biggest, also my bushiest, would be the 2' hibiscus that I started from a branch of my mother's tree. I don't have the space for really large plants.

I've thought of getting a hibiscus. Except that my wifes work makes a great hibiscus tea and I am afraid they'd want to harvest mine for some tea. Hahaha!

I use to have a huge jude plant in one bathroom but once mom moved in she killed it. I do not have but one house plant now. I had to get rid of all of them because I had one cat that ate them all and would get sick and I have not replaced any one them

I only have one house plant now and that is a rubber plant. I have had it for years, I bought it on sale because it was dying and had one leaf, I took it home and it turned into a beautiful plant. However the children just lately for some reason have taken to pulling the leaves off it, it had a brand new shoot that I could have cut off and used to start another plant and I found the other day that they had snapped that off too. I do not think it will survive now, because plants suffer trauma and it has not been the same since they pulled the leaves off. I have not found out who has done it yet but I will and boy will they be in trouble.

i have a palm which is about 7 feet tall and it has been with us for 4 years now...It is bound to grow some more in the coming years and i also have a bamboo which is almost as tall as the palm and they are both in my balcony which gets a fair amount of sunshine - probably the reason for them to grow so tall

I don't have many plants, I have alot of aloe vera's, and one ivy plant but for some reason it isn't growing very well, its not very long at all. I do have an Amaryllis plant, and its about 1 and a half feet tall, its really hard to get it to bloom, I think I've only seen it bloom twice in the 6 yrs. I've had it, and it was always around Christmas, it blooms a beautiful red flower, it didn't even bloom this year.

Hey Grandpa Bob! I don't have any houseplants that are really
that tall. I don't have too many plants at all because of
my cats! There are too many plants that are dangerous for
them. I only have bamboo plants and some other kind of plant
that I don't even know the name of! It was my neighbors plant
and when he got sick and went to Alabama he gave it to me! So
now I have had it for about 2 years not. It had one leaf on it
when he gave it to me. Someone told me it is called a "money
plant"! When I first got it it had a braided stem, but my
neighbor said it wasn't growing for him. Well, it started
growing for me, but lost the braided stem. It now is huge
and has ten huge leaves and more growing! I just don't know
what happened to the beautiful braided stem!
