I do apologize...I should have posted this earlier...but Jen was released from the hospital on Friday evening. She was sent home with six prescriptions...four antibiotics...something to help clear out her chest and something for her appetite. She was still pretty weak on Friday but felt a little better yesterday and a lot better today.
I want to thank everyone here on mylot who responded to my original discussion with your caring and concern. It really helped to know that so many people were pulling for her. I know that when Jen reads my discussion she will be touched by your responses, too.
Mylotters are definitely the best on the net!

I am so glad she is doing better. But I will still be sending good thoughts and prayers so she continues to do well.

Thanks dragon! She's taking it slow...brought the kids over last night and we made brownies but they didn't stay long. She's trying to get plenty of rest and is eating like a horse right now!

Being pretty much out of the Mylot loopiness for a while, I had been sort of keeping up with things, but not responding much or anything. My first thought to your previous discussion about her being in the hospital was - did they get married? And if yes, was she insured long enough that the hospital bill would be covered?
While waiting with a friend in the emergency area, I did hear a doctor reassuring a patient who was questioning & complaining about not having any medical insurance & about the medical bills that his health & life & well being were what matters the most instead of the money, because there would be no point. Not sure if I make sense here, being that this was back near the end of 2001, & I cannot recall the doctor's exact wording.
All of those things pretty much was what came to mind from the past discussions either you or Jen or both posted. Hopefully, it turned out to be a speedy recovery.

Thanks! I know they will take her condition more seriously if she ever goes to that ER again. It's a small hospital and one of her nurses while she was in there had been her nurse that first night. She said that she thought Jen looked really bad that night and she was glad that we had enough sense to come back the next day when she got worse.

Thanks MSV! They want to do more blood work next week and another xray the following week so I'm impressed by the follow up.

I apologize for just finding this and your first discussion on this topic a few minutes ago! I'm so glad to read your daughter's home and getting better. Pneumonia can be quite nasty and when you suffer dehydration along with it it's even worse. She's young so she may need to be held down a bit from doing too much too soon during her recovery, but I'm sure you know that! I know that's how my daughter is when she's recovering from a flare-up of her Crohn's disease. It takes her at least several days after coming home from the hospital to feel even halfway like herself but she'll try to make up for lost time from the minute she gets home if we let her.
Give Jen my love and tell her there will be a friend invitation for her when she's up to posting here now and then again, since you said she's not real active here these days.

I'm so glad to hear she is home and on the mend. I hope she recovers quickly and doesn't have to go though anything like this ever again!

That's good that she is home. I had that when I was pregnant with my last child and spent several days in the hospital and then the antibotics I was able to take took forever to clear me up.

Hey spalladino! I am so happy to hear that Jen is doing better!
I knew that she would be ok! I am glad that they did release
her from the hospital, but I do hope that she will be able
to rest being that she has the kids to worry about! I hope
that she still will be able to get the rest that she needs
and I'm sure that her Mom will be there to help her out! Please
send her my warmest wishes for a very speedy recovery! And
make sure that she eats and drinks lots of chocolate milkshakes!
That's what my doctor made me drink when I was anemic many years
ago! Thanks for giving us the update! I am really happy that the
news was so great!
