Shutting Detroit Down

Have you heard the song by John Rich titled "Shutting Detroit Down" if not it is a good one to listen to even if you don't like country music as it explains the mess that we have with our economy right now and I am thankful that someone in the music industry had enough sense and courage about them to do such a song. I think that it is refreshing when someone sees an issue and takes it upon themselves to do something about it.

havent heard it. sometimes i do listen to country. but it sounds like it could happen from things i've heard on news today.

It is a scary thought. Most of my husbands' work comes from the auto industry and so I am worried about all of this. I hope that the federal bailout will help but I think that more money needs to get into the American citizens pocket for that to happen.

I have not heard it yet. I really should go back to listening to Country Music on the radio. I do not listen to the radio much, and I might have heard it, but usually since my husband can no longer drive, he just listens to his audio books and with me it is the computer and the Tv.
I will have to see if it is on the internet. I do love the songs that tell what is going on.

Yes, I am sure that you can find it on the internet. It is a good song about the auto industry and how they are being shut down and how many of those people have worked that job all their life. I hope you like it.

Thanks for sharing this with all of us. I do not listen to a whole lot of music these days. I haven't heard of this song yet.

It is a good song and if you get a chance to listen to a country station for a day I am sure you will hear it. I bet you could search for it and hear it online too. I think that it is a good song as it really hits home with the way that they are doing the business in Detroit.

I have heard it and you are correct. It is an awesome song. John Rich has never been one to back down from anything, and I guess it's a good thing because what he says in this song needed to be said! The one thing about country music is that most of the artists are not afraid to start a fight if one needs to be started!

I will agree with you there. I think that him and Toby Keith are very strong minded about certain subjects and they say what they think. I would like to see a similar song by Toby as I also think it would be a good one. I love his songs and John Rich is good on his own.
