He caught that Eel on the Padre Islands in Texas. We went there on a trip a couple years ago.

Actually, Yes! I have! Years and years ago when I was about 13 I asked my dad to let me build a pond in my back yard by my garden. I dug a big hole and laid a tarp inside of it. I used bricks and stones to hide all the blue from the tarp. Later that day, him and I went fishing for anything that we could put in that pond. I caught a snapping turtle, a few fish, and an eel! My father refused to let me bring the eel home, though. He cut the fishing line and set him free. I put the fish and the turtle in the pond. The turtle escaped - I have no idea where he ran off to, and after a while, the fish looked bummed, so I brought them back to the river where I caught them.

Oh yes, I used to go fishing as a kid and caught a few eels. They really messed up the line when I got them out of the water. They were only small things though and I always threw them back. - Derek

Years ago when I was fishing with my dad we caught an Eel. I think it was my first time fishing and I remember being totally freaked out by it. I never ate one either and I don't plan on ever.

My father always ended-up catching eels because that fishing spot had alot of eels. But usually, we didn't eat the eels. Sometimes, we just throw back into the river. If our friends want to eat it, we will give it to them. We don't dare to eat eel because of the smell..

I caught an eel before and had to cut it because it curled itself up. I have never eat an eel but I heard that it's delicious when fried or smoked. It is also rich in calcium, protein, vitamin A and E.
