How to convince him to learn english

My younger brother is junior one now. He is good at his subjects except english. I have told him how important and useful english is but failing. He keeps saying we should be patriotic using mother tongue but the truth is that he have trouble in keeping those words in his mind blaming everytime about how hard the english is.
What can do to help him? How could i convince him to learn englis?
