Do you ever get frustrated when your post numbers go down each day?

It has been a very frustrating week so far. I was off for two days because I was in the hospital, and when I sign back in I'm down 12 posts from where I left it on Sunday night. So, I do my best to make 12 hearty posts and respond as I had quite a few email notifications the day after I returned home (Wednesday). Then I come on this morning to see I've lost yet another 12 posts. It's like I have to figure writing double for the amount I want to see.
And yes, I've taken the advise of others by following the threads that those with a lot of time under their belts on Mylot respond to. I make my responses, and the threads I start rather lengthy. Though with that I've been chided for being too long winded so you can't seem to win on here.
I've notified Mylot so many times that I'm beginning to think all they send out is an automated message "Don't call us, we'll call you". I can't seem to find an actual phone number for customer service to speak to someone in administration to find out exactly how this works. It's amazing because I'm a stickler for rules so I know I've not been violating TOS/TOUS, and yet here I am loosing 10 plus posts per day, and the ones I've started on Mylot interest that I thought would be deleted because they were from when I first started are still there. There are threads out there that blatantly violate section 12 of the TOUS that are still up, so I'm at a loss. It all seems perplexing.
So, does anyone else become frustrated when you spend time writing 3 paragraphs or more for responses just to see your post count go down? Does anyone else wonder how those with 10K plus posts got there if this is the pattern? Does anyone else have suggestions or tips on knowing which users posts will soon disappear?

Hi Anora.
I'll start atthe end.
No I have no doubts at allhow those with high figurs got there, none whatsoever. They avoided ALL the discussions which would be obviously deleted:
- milestones
- earnings
- stars
- ratings
- complaints
- anything in MEM
etc. etc.
My posts have gone down by over 100 in the pst couple of weeks but I was EXPECTING it. Ianser onmany discussions by new users when they ask questions which could be answered by opening the link to the FAQs. Irsponded on many of the hundreds of discussions about the tasks.
Many repeated topic dicussions were deleted too recently and severalusers were banned (some for plagiarising.
It states in the TermsOfUse that myLot do not tell us why they delete and we sign that we agree to the Terms on joining. So we either avoid those discussions or respond on them and take pot luck. I am used to it and don't complain

I'm not sure what MEM is to be honest. I did start keeping a record of everything I start, so I know if anything I have started was "banned", but so far I'm not breaking TOS with my own threads.
Though, what is very frustrating is I've avoided all of the other discussions. And what further bothers me is there are few still up that violate section 12 of TOS that have been up for months. It does seem then that perhaps it takes admin quite a long time to deal with such things.
And I understand that we sign an agreement, but just because we sign it doesn't mean we can't ask questions. It's like my teaching contract. Most teachers have unions so we question our contract yearly to make sure we're getting a fair deal.
I spend a lot of time addressing issues on here, and I generally put more then just one sentence. So yes, when I see that for every 25 posts I do each day, half are gone the next day thus taking my goals down, I do get very frustrated.

Yes. Anytime you sign something that you "agree" with their TOS, etc you are signing a contract that could be legally binding. It's companies ways of protecting their rights.

Hi Anora! I can certainly appreciate your frustration. I noticed a loss of several posts the other day for the first time and to be honest I didn't take any notice of how many disappeared because I too don't worry too much numbers.
I would imagine that a certain loss of posts is normal along the way although 12 posts a day does seem excessive. I understand the rules although there a grey areas. The other day one of my friends complained that his discussion was deleted because one of the responders replied with a live referral link and the mylotter who started the topic was upset and wondered why it wasn't just the response that was removed instead of the whole discussion.
I don't know how to resolve the problem. I would suggest plodding along and not taking too much notice of stars and numbers because getting upset over things that are beyond our control is a waste of energy. I know it doesn't seem fair but what can you do?

Yes, I understand that what I cannot control I cannot be upset over. However, doesn't mean I won't be from time to time lol. I think for me because I work very hard at responding, that is where it bites the most. I'm typically not the one to write one word or one sentence responses so I feel if I've taken the time to write something that long, it should still be there. However, today I'm much better about it and I'm truly in agreement that it's best left to the void, and I can continue enjoying the conversations.

It happens to me too, not very often but its there alright. Once I was sooooooooo angry that I just had to vent and started a discussion on it. Its then that some responses made real sense. It seem that I had replied to certain discussions which somehow or the other violated mylot guidelines somehow and do were deleted and alongwith the discussion, all the responses got deleted too! So automatically, my number of responses got reduced too! It did make sense and I back-checked and yes, those discussions were no longer there in my ‘discussions I’ve responded to’ list but my point is that it means I would have to always choose only safe topics…I mean it certainly cuts down on my liberty to respond to whichever discussion I want to, doesn’t it? But I guess with mylot, it’s a take it or leave it scenario.

That's just it, I've been trying to figure out what safe discussions are. Sometimes I respond to those that I feel are safe and numbers still go down, and without being notified which discussions were deleted I have absolutely no idea which threads to avoid in the future. It's a bit of a c-shot you know?
However, all I can do at least the thing I know I can do is come on here every day I work on Mylot and do my best with posting intelligent responses and hoping that I continue to work my way up to my goal.
It's a bit of as other's mentioned learning to be a little bit more light-hearted about the entire thing.

They just go down because you posted something that is against the guidelines. They are only post counts so don't worry about it. Even your earnings go down a bit which isn't so good. It's just a way you have to deal with it. I know in your post you said you stick to the rules, but maybe you missed something.
Or contact staff and ask them why it is happening, for you feel you are not doing anything against the guidelines.

Pweety-
I did send several requests asking why and which posts I violated, and received no response. My take is that if I've not received a response, it was not me who violated TOS. However, I'm going to try to just not think about it. That is probably the best thing to do in this case.

I find it interesting that others have emailed them and have heard a response, and I've heard nothing. Perhaps it's that I've not done anything wrong so there is nothing to respond with? Or that they are just that busy. Thanks for the response. Namaste-Anora

I also have less idea regarding posts reduce per day. It also
happen to me that my discussions deleted and it stated some violations.
Just be careful when posting and you may read again the guidelines. Just 3-4
lines will also do.

is this what really happens? oh no, it really breaks my heart. you know i've been trying my hardest to post as many every day. and there are few times also that i experienced loosing some points. i thought it was just an error. but now i've been thinking, if this is their way of getting their members posting more and more. do you get what i mean, like me, if i loose points of course i will do everything to earn those points again and i will not stop until i get them back. so therefore i will post as many as everyday. but if i don't loose points i wont post anymore. i don't know its really frustrating. i hope it wont happen to me. anyway, happy mylotting!

That's an interesting hypothesis on it. I've not quite thought of it that way. I know that I need to be patient with so many members coming and going. I suppose part of me wishes I could be a mindreader and know which threads were safe to post on lol, so I'd continue to go up rather then taking one step forward and two steps back.

i don't even pay attention to my post number or my star rating but i'm sure my number is like a 2 step backwards 1 step forward kind of thing.
heck NUMBERS??? i lose entire discussions on pretty much a daily basis.......i've pretty much come to expect it.
as long as we're having fun is my motto.

Entire discussions?! That's a bummer. I like what you write lol. They always make me laugh and it's a bit like reading Jon Stewart if he were to blog, or well come on here to Mylot.
Thanks for the reality check. Namaste-Anora

That is really strange. I have heard any thing like that before and I must say that something is wrong here. I think with time you will get your number posts back because it can't be that all 10-12 discussions or your response get deleted every day. There must a technical error with your account. Today I am seeing you at 1554. I will note down this number and see if it goes further down tomorrow!

I was wondering that myself because last week I went down in 2 minutes by 12 posts and thought, wow. I now have all the threads I've started written down so I know none of those have been deleted, but I can't ever tell which response may have been deleted. Yet, if it is a glitch maybe it will be worked out. I keep setting my goals at 25 because that is what I can genuinely write on in the time I allow myself to work on Mylot.
I also started following the threads that more seasoned Mylotters respond to so that I can hopefully get ahead with post counts and avoid the pitfalls as well, as mentioned above by Diana.
Thanks for responding. Namaste-Anora
