Every month I donate $18 to the ASPCA to help protect animals against cruelty. I tend to watch the shows on Animal Planet that make you cry and I realized I might not be able to do much but I can do SOMETHING about it. The ASPCA is going orange for the animals this month. I told a few of my friends and family about this and thought the myLotters might like to know as well. You can buy a simple bracelet to show your support or you can go all out and get the t-shirts and bags and water bottles. Either way it'd help. So, if you love animals and would like to do something about it but can't do much. This is the way to go. So, if you'd like to buy a bracelet or anything to help out this month, go here - http://www.aspcaonlinestore.com . Or, you could always go to http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com if you'd like to help and can't afford to spend even $1.

That's great of you. When my sister asked what I would like for my birthday 2 years ago, willing to make a donation to any place of my choice, I chose an animal shelter/care place that is a very touching place that cares for disabled animals: Rolling Dog Ranch (which has other animals too).
Also every time I go to a shelter (just to spend time with animals), I always donate a small amount directly to the shelter (not by mail or with their requests, because this way, it usually all goes to the darn stickers and return addresses, stickers, send-out letters they distribute through the mail, which I think is such a waste). They also often use the company mail-out donations for staff members. But most shelters if you deposit to the actual shelter place in cash right there, it is used directly for the shelter animals in need.

That is awesome that she donated for your birthday. I'm sure that ranch really needed it.

Yes, except it was pretty new then (the organization), and I would never have known that she donated (if she hadn't told me), because the organization never credited or told me. After a couple of months, I emailed them directly, and they said that she HAD donated (not noting on the amount). I'm sure they have improved on that now though. They do a lot for poor animals adn make them feel like normal (non disabled) creatures. :o)

Its really appreciate your attitude and thoughts but my friend there are soo many humans in this world need our help specially in africa. I think humans should be helped first then for animals. Think about it (i never ever means that animals dont need our support or help, i heartily like your generous character. I personally always think humans should be the first priority)

Actually, I started another discussion the same time I started this one where you CAN help humans. A person can only do so much but we can't ignore the animals either.

This is very generous of you. I have participated in fund raisers for the local SPCA by donating art and getting other artists to contribute as well.

That sounds cool. I like trying to get other people to help out too but I don't pressure them either.
