Well I've been a busy gardener today it seems. Been outside on and off in the warm sunshine cleqaring beds and what not. This shot shows the cucumber bed. It sits alongside my house facing south so it gets a lot of sunshine and the cucumbers thrive here. I cleared the mulch and added some top soil to it. The ground is still a tad hard so the new soil sits on top for a few days until I can turn it into the ground. Have you started adding new soil etc to your garden beds yet? Are you woking outside cleaning at all?

There is not much to do outside around here right now as we don't have to put things up during the winter and don't have to worry about frozen plants or grounds. Our ground is hard due to lack of rain. And wouldn't you know it they say now that on Easter Sunday of all days we might get heavy rains, high winds and hail. I would rather it come on Tues. after the holiday and after my daughter and grandson get back home safely.

Yeah that's one of the pitfalls of living in a cold climate area. Protecting the plants etc during the winter months. Some flowers and bushes I want, I don't buy because you have to dig them up in the fall, and store them until the spring, then replant them. That is a tad too much work for me. I'd forget and have flowers growing on my basement floors. Hahaha!

It's too chilly to go out right now, I'm waiting till it warms up later today. I have to mow the grass and I have a lot of cleaning up to do. I may not do anything but mow today, as I'm fighting with my pc. I'm pretty sure I got a virus somehow but I don't understand how--I have all kinds of security. I may even have to reload, which takes hours.
I'd much rather be working in the yard!

i'm doing mainly the winter clean ups first..there were twigs all over from the winter.and pulling up maple shoots.my maple trees drop those "helicopters" all over the yard, and if you don't tend to them, invasive maples are everywhere.
did get to some re-mulching after that though.

So far, I've been picking up dog poop that has been hidden under snow all winter. I had to wait for it to dry out some. I also picked up some trash that had blown around the yard. Everything is still soggy, but soon I'll have some raised beds for planting. My husband is going to pick up a load of topsoil soon, so I'm hoping for the best garden ever this year.

I will be as it seem's that they are not going to do it. As I told you I hate doing it. But I paid for the seeds and he planted in the house so now I have to do the yard and get the garden ready for planting as he thinks all's you have to do is plant and that is it.
I shold just let him make the mistake but hey I like veg. You have a good day

Living in a city that is almost a concrete jungle now for me a garden is something that I only see in pictures. I am not able to maintain a garden because I live in a building. I tried growing some plants in pots but sometimes I do not get the time to water them and the plants die out very soon.

I never even thought about people having to dig up trees and replant them?? Oh I don't blame you, I would not want that either. That sounds like a pain in the
