I add new interests as I come across them in somebody's discussion. Adding them with the system that MyLot uses is good, but it takes a long, long time to get through all the pages...at least the way it's currently set up. I'd love it if MyLot changed to a list with thumbnail format so that there were more on each page. There also seems to be a lot of duplication, and I think some interests should be combined. It would be less confusing. Until I can get through the lists as presented, I'll continue to add new ones that I see in discussions. Adding new ones is good in that it gives you more discussions to respond to.

Hey you are right I never thought about it like that. They do duplicate a lot of them I notice that too.

I'm not positive, but I was always under the impression that if you had something added as an interest that when you responded to one of those discussions you'd earn a wee bit more. I just add them when the box pops up 'do you want to add this interest?' I figure it can't hurt...might help?! Maybe it does improve ranking. It will be interesting to see what others say about it.

I answer my discussions from e-mail notifications. If, upon answering a discussion, a new interest choice pops up that I have not thought of, that interests me, i will add it, otherwise i will not add new interests, unless I think of them myself.
