I have no idea. I guess it is because they cannot get up in the sky and it would take them too long to count them, yet with paint on the door, it is easy for them to check. Then maybe it is because God made the stars and therefore HE has more power than mother giving them a swap on their behind and they dare not question HIM, but mom, they can sure question.

Because we really do have to be sure and it's right there for the taking! We can't reach out and touch the stars now can we? To confirm that the number of stars you gave is correct, means we have to be concentrating, then look up and start counting. That just sounds like way too much hard work if you ask me! We'll always go for the simplest avenue each and every time and if the road to validation is an easy one, then the Doubting Thomas will come out in the best of us!

Hahahaha, I think it would be difficult to see whether the paint is really dry or not. But with respect to the stars, it is common knowledge that there are a lot of stars in the sky.

Hi! Riya! It is said that 'seeing is believing'. Stars are always visible on the sky and one need not throw any statement about stars. It is a universal truth and since our childhood we have seen stars in the sky and we'll continue to see it, till we are alive. However, one does not get a fresh coat of pain on one's door every now and then, so if you have got your doors painted, it is only you, who knos that the 'paint is fresh', the visitor cannot come to know automatically, till you tell him/her.

Riya! You state the universal truth i.e. 'there are number of stars in the sky' and it cannot be challanged by them, even they count, therfore, they believe you.

It is often carried by most humans that only what is felt could be believed. However regarding naturaal phenomena we are forced to believing things that we see miles and and miles awy with our eyes only. The feeling of touch assures existence, the gazing of stars from a long distance is leading to believe.

I am surprised that they believe you about the stars but i think the answer is simple... while the number of stars can't be checked at the moment, the paint is always a viable option to check.

Maybe because the sky is too high for them to reach so they just believe what you say anyway they themselves could see the stars from afar. But with wet paints, it is very challenging to test with their own hands if this is indeed wet as what you told them. Men are born curious so whenever they have the chance they will do anything to satisfy their curiosity.

It's funny but it's true and I think I am of them, lol. I guess we do it out of curiosity, lol. And about the stars, maybe because it would be hard to count them.

Maybe because counting the stars in the sky is so hard to do, just like counting your hair, while touching the door that has wet or dry paint is so easy task for they only need their hand to prove it. Human are curious even their is already a signage on it, they will not believe until they tested it on what you say is true or not.

because their hands aren't long enough to touch the stars LOL! I won't believe you if you would say that there are are n number of stars in the sky but I would belive the other one because this might make my hands dirty. Not only dirty but it can give a stain on my clothes too! Do you belive that I have a car with 19 tyres in it?

Maybe the paint has dried; how would I know if I don't touch it? I can see there are stars in the sky, I don't have to take your word for it. Do you think a lot? How do you come up with this stuff? Clever...I think...

The curiosity is to much. I cant count all the stars in the sky to see how many there really are, but i can touch that wet paint to test to see if its wet and to see what will happen.

I'm so glad to find others in the unbelievable club. Nothing I say seems to be believable. I told them, Hubby, there was a squirrel under the house, immediately the response is what would a squirrel be doing under the house? Like I spoke to the squirrel. I didn't say we had a conversation, maybe he meant, you must be crazy no self respecting squirrel would go under the house. I told him I saw a cougar in the field in the middle of the day. Immediately the response was it must have been a coyote or a large house cat. Like I don't know what cougar looks like. The cougar showed up later that week and thank god someone else saw it. The foxes that I see are cats until the proof shows up in the form of poop, Everyone knows I don't know what I am talking about or I just flat out lie. Welcome to the club.
