How do you teach a boy to stand up and pee?

Get your son a potty and when he has to go put something in the potty for him to aim at and then just have him stand there until he goes and tell him that his is the way big boys do it. Your son isn't too young. The first thing to do toward getting him started is to get rid of disposable diapers and those pullups. They make him feel comfortable when his is wet. If he is wearing big boy shorts he will fee uncomfortable when wet. Lots of praise until he gets the idea. At his age it shouldn't take too long.

Thank you!! Very good advice!! He is out of the disposable's and pull ups, even at night. He's very well potty trained, but still uses the little boy potty. I think your idea will probably motivate him to stand up. He may think it's cool!!

Many years ago my aunt trained her son by having him pee on any bugs that he saw. Of course they lived in the country and no one was around. Then they were in town one day and he saw a bug on the sidewalk in the middle of town and he decided to pee on the bug. The training took a different direction after that.

Ha ha, the things boys do in public!! My nephew was also raised in the country and for some reason one thing he would always do was take his morning potty on the front porch, or off of the front porch, they moved to town and my sister in law just figured he had stopped it by that time, when lo and behold he was caught by the neighbor. Yeah, his teaching took new direction at that time too.

Well put him outside and when he says "Mommy I have to pee" then pull down his pants in front of a bush and have him pee.
