I sure hope I do not forget the lines or the music because Trevor is so loud

Ah yes Trevor, the best baritone in our church, the one who took professional singing and the one who probably all the neighborhood for miles around can here. He usually sings two or three pieces and that is usually before the amateurs like me sing and after he finishes, I forget the music of the piece I am going to sing. I am singing a solo in the concert come next Sunday evening the 26th of April. Last year I had to have the accompanist play my piece for a bit until I remembered it because I forgot the tune even though I had been practicing and this year, have not had much time to do much. Not only that, I am a bit nervous about getting the verses all screwed up. I am not afraid of facing an audience. I am a bit of a Diva. Come on it, I am a Diva. So what do you do or what do you suggest so I do not forget the music or the tune?

I would be so scared doing something like this. Couldn't the accompanist cue you again? You certainly need to get in more practise as this willl then make you feel confident. I do understand how you feel and hope that someone a lot brighter than me will come up witht he right answer to help you. Blessings

She did the last time and will probably do it again. The last time though someone was recording it and would have probably given me a copy of the tape, but he did not have enough time. So I am rather reticent of asking her to play it first. I was thinking of recording it first and then play it all the time Trevor is singing, but they could probably see the earplugs in my ears.

I would suggest that you try to focus on yourself. I would try to tune them out and not pay attention to what they are doing.

But he is such a good singer and he sings in Italian and I am also trying to understand the words.

Can you put some earplugs in and discreetly remove them when he finishes? I think he is distracting you. If you can't do that, begin to sing your song in your head when he sings his and keep it up until he finishes. You could also ask for the order to be changed--say that because he is so talented, he demoralizes the amateurs and it would be better if he would be the program closer. You just need to focus yourself very intensely.

I will have to see if my husband still has his earplugs. That might help.

Have the words overhead on a screen behind the audience, they won't know.

But then they can see the screen and there is no ledge in front on top to put it.

Hey diva suspensful, just practice your words even when you mylotting hum to the words and you will see how perfect you will be on the 26th. All the best
