Are there any Odd Thomas fans here? Not that long ago I read the first novel in the series and I really enjoyed the novel. Unfortunately, that's been the only one I've read so far. I've been meaning to get around to finding the other books in the series and read them but so far so I haven't.
For those who have never heard of the series, it's basically written by Dean Koontz and is about a guy in his early twenties. While he can't verbally communicate with them, he has the ability to see and communicate with people who have passed on. Like in the first novel, his "sidekick" is Elvis. Perhaps not the correct term but Elvis hangs out with him quite a bit throughout the novel. In the first novel, he finds out that these group of guys are planning something VERY horrible for his town and he sets out to stop them.
Anyway, are there any other fans of the series here? What did you think of the other books?

Like you, I read one of the Odd Thomas books and I enjoyed it too. I'm not sure which one I have read, if i read the same one was you...
the one i read there are "super monkeys" that are killing people and he's trying to figure out where they came from and who's controlling them. I didn't explain it extremely real but if it's the one you read you should know lol...
Maybe the one I read was called Forever Odd...I know on the cover it had his face meshed in with the white background of the book, but he was wearing sunglasses. lol.
Do you know the order the books go in? I have no idea and knowing the order would really help me out! hehe

That one you're talking about that you read is definitely not the first one (which is just called 'Odd Thomas'). Unfortunately I can't help with which one it is since the first is the only one I've read and I don't remember any killer animals in that one. The order and time frame of the series goes like this as according to stuff I've read:
1) Odd Thomas
2) Forever Odd - Set six months after the first
3) Brother Odd - Set seven months after 'Forever Odd'
4) Odd Hours - I'm not sure how long after Brother odd this is set.

Dean Koontz is my favorite author. I have read all of the Odd Thomas books (I haven't read the comic book/graphic novel, though).
I really like them. Odd is such a lovable character that it's nice that there is more than one book with him. I would recommend reading the rest of the series. I think the third one is kind of the weirdest of them all.

Yeah, I definitely plan on reading the rest of them. Unfortunately I just have to find the books and since the bookstore I used to shop at closed down last year and the book section in the two nearest Wal-Marts aren't that great, I'll likely have to just get them online or from a library. I'm glad Dean Koontz decided to continue using the character for at least a few more books.

I'm currently on the fourth book in the series, Odd Hours. I quite like the series, and find it's a different writing style from anything else I've read by Dean Koontz.
