Any tinitus suffers here on mylot?

For any of those who don't know, tinitus is constant ringing in your ears that you can't get rid of. I damaged my ear drums at the age of 10 & have had tinitus since. For those sufferers, how do you cope with going to sleep of a night? I like to slep with the tv on coz I find that if I go to sleep with nothing on, the quiet is too loud & it takes me forever to fall asleep. My hubby usually can't sleep with the tv on so I normally fall aleep in the lounge room then carry myself to bed when I wake about 3 hours later. How do you cope overall with your tinitus? I have been told that I am legally deaf in one of my ears because of the damage done.
