I went to the dentist last week and got my six month general cleaning. And the dentist herself came to clean my teeth. The other hygienists were booked with other patients. So, she cleaned them and was done in less than 10 minutes. She told me that my teeth were very healthy and that she didn't really have anything to do to my teeth. She looked at my X-Ray's and said that they looked good. She saw no indication of anything being wrong. I was happy and shocked! She had to take the tool that picks tartar out of ones teeth. She picked through all my teeth and I hardly had any tartar, just a small bit, that was all. And she said that I had no plaque build up either. She had one lady polish my teeth and she, too, told me that my teeth were white and healthy. I was happy.
When I first came to this dentist, my mouth was in bad shape. I had an Peridontal Disease issue going on. So for me to hear them tell me this great news made my day!
But mines was not so bad. I never had bleeding gums. My teeth are very strong. I brush them everyday, really good. My gums never bleed when I brush my teeth. I will continue to take care of my teeth. I enjoy getting my teeth cleaned. How healthy is your teeth? Have you ever had any problems with your teeth? Please share your comments! Thanks!

After 15 years of struggling with gum disease, I finally broke down and ordered some Dr. Christopher's Tooth Powder. I have been using this for two to three months and have seen a vast improvement. I hope my next check-up will be as good as yours!

It is a combination of different herbs ground into powder form that you put a little on a wet toothbrush and brush your teeth with. Before the invention of toothpaste (boy, I'm old
), we all used toothpowders!

That's a good news Cram. Going to the dentist is one heck of a problem for most. We keep on postponing the appointments incessantly.
But its important that we make sure to visit the dentist regularly even when we are with no apparent problem. I went for my routine dental check up a few months ago. I wanted to clean and scrape my teeth but the dentist said that i do not require it as yet. He advised me floss regularly which I hardly do everyday. I get lazy.
And also he said that most of the diseases of the teeth and gums are due to not cleaning our tongues well. We must do that with a dental rush. That was new to me though and i had no idea that we get oral brush to clean our tongues!

It is very rare that I hear about teeth and gums being healthy and there is more and more evidence to suggest that healthy gums lead to a healthy person... makes sense since the fastest way into the blood stream is through the mouth (one of the fastest you could poke yourself I guess).
Just a clarification... just because teeth are a certain color be it white or off white or even yellow is not necessarily an indication of the health of teeth. It is kinda like saying an old white countertop that has been turned off-white over the years but has still been kept clean is dirty... it's not... it's just a different color.
I have always been told that I have good teeth but my gums are the problem... my wife the same thing and she really takes care of her mouth. Over the age of 40 and only 1 cavity her whole life.
Also remember that over-brushing or brushing too hard is just as bad if not worse than not brushing regularly. But all-in-all great job in keeping up the health of your choppers!
Thanks

I've got healthy teeth also, I just went a couple weeks ago and got my teeth cleaned and had x-rays done and the dentist told me they were healthy. He asked if I was a flosser, and I told him I was, he said he could tell because I didn't hardly have any buildup between my gums, the hygienist told me that whatever I was doing, was working. I make sure I brush my teeth everyday, I use a battery operated toothbrush and I think it really helps, I floss, and get regular cleanings. I too at one time didn't have very healthy teeth and gums, I had Periodontal Disease too, and my gums would bleed whenever I brushed them, but after getting them cleaned that first time, it has gone away, and I make sure I get my teeth cleaned every 3 mos. I'm a heart patient so I have to get it done more frequently than most people do.

I always have a dental check-up every six months whether my teeth needs it or not. Or when ever I experience tooth ache (which in all my life has never happen YET) and even though I think that my teeth look really yellow and are horrible, the dentist told me that its natural and that I have a very healthy set of teeth. my teeth are so healthy that he dentist can see the layer of blue protective on my teeth, which apparently comes naturally with healthy teeth. The only thing I ever have to do is get my teeth whitened as i consume a large amount of coffee.

I know I got some stuff going on cavity wise and I am sure it's because I smoke, drink colas and coffee and don't floss right. Good thing I have that kind of insurance LOL

Wow congratulations!
You have done a good job taking care of your teeth. I think very few people really give much attention to their teeth. Mostly they think that brushing everyday is just enough. But brushing can't take all the dirt away. It needs proper cleaning using tools and only the dentist can do that.
To tell you the truth I know my teeth isn't that healthy. I have a TMJ (Temporo Mandibular Joint)condition. My dentist suspects and I have to go through xrays to find out how severe my case is. I haven't done it cause it's a very expensive treatment. I'm still having seconds thoughts if I should have it treated or not. For now, brushing and visits to the dentist is all I can do.
Ciao!

In my child hood in an accident I lost my child tooth and my mouth was full of blood and it happened twice in my life and that my mouth was full of blood in my childhood. I still feel very scared when I remember those incidents.
Till now I didn't face any such problems with my teeth for a great deal but recently I am feeling that i have pain in my gum and one day it was bleeding too!

No, I don't feel healthy about my teeth, it's because I am to lazy to brush my teeth in the midnight, sometimes i look on the mirror and realize that my teeth a little bit turn to yellow, sigh. Dough..! i hate my laziness.

I must admit that my teeth are not really in good condition. I have toothache all the time and because I don't want to pulled some of my important teeth, I just endure the pain. I don't know why I have a very bad seat of teeth where in fact I don't eat candy much of the time especially when I was still a kid.
Right now I want to replace my lost teeth with porcelain teeth, but very expensive.

I like to think that my teeth are pretty healthy. I have had my share of cavities over the years, but in general, I take good care of my teeth, and make sure to get cleanings regularly. The last time I went to the dentist, the hygienist thought she saw a baby cavity forming. She wasn't entirely sure, so I have to go back and have the real dentist take a look. I hope it's nothing!

I always brush my teeth two times a day. I try to use herbal toothpaste and tries to wash my teeth every time I have any sweets or food. I goes to dentist once in six months and gets my teeth cleaned by dentist with water spray. I changes tooth brush once in 3 months.

Oh that's wonderful cream! Count your blessings sweetie because that's really rare! I take after my mother, we both have terrible teeth. She doesn't have any teeth and hasn't since she was 17 years old! I don't have any bottoms and all of my back teeth on top are gone. I'm doing my best to keep the rest that I have and so far I've been able to. My front teeth have broken several times but luckily, the dentist was able to repair them. I brushed my teeth every day and still do but it's a hereditary thing with me. In the next 6 months, I'm getting mini implants on the bottom and then a denture that will fit on top of the implants so the denture won't come out so easily. It cost's $5200 to have done!! A LOT of money! But luckily we've come into some money so we're able to do it but still, it's a lot of money! OUCH!!

Good on you , A lot of people dont bother about their teeth thinking nothing will happen like me in the past. I never went to a dentist and decided to join after irrittaing gums. OMG i was shocked what my dentist was saying ,he actually said they were the worst teeth he had ever seen. (It couldnt have been that bad could it?) I needed loads of fillings, my teeth taken out which was teh most painful thing i had ever experienced. My gums were so close to gum disease and my teeth were not straight. Now i brush my teeth 4 times per day, iv got straight shimmering teeth and i love it. Never aagain iv learned that teeth are important you just dont know it until you see a dentist.
Take care
