Can your car last a million miles?

I came across this article. I think it is crazy. But experts say it can be done. There's Wisconsinite Peter Gilbert, who has logged more than a million miles in his 1989 Saab 900 SPG. MSN reports the durable vehicle, now on display in a museum, still features its original engine and turbocharger.
Buick and Jaguar rank highest, while Saab and Volvo rank below average. I found that surprising. So how many miles are on your car? Would you want it to go a million miles?

I think I've probably had a couple cars that have gone over that. Most of the cars I've owned have been 10 years old or older... and many of them did already have high mileage. The first couple cars I bought didn't cost me very much at all because of the high mileage on them... no more than $500.

I probably bought that from you :D
I never sold any of my cars, they weren't worth a dime by the time I was finished with them. I'd have to pay someone to take it off to a junk yard. I couldn't even donate them, that's how bad they were.

actually here in Ky they will pay you $75 for a junk car, they then take them and sell them for scrap metal for twice that much. Most times they haul away free too.

Reminds me of Married with Children episode when Al's car gets to that high mileage mark and he missed it
. I don't have a car right now but I am surely taking some notes..get a reliable durable
car even though it said it might not be possible to have both in one car. Car manufacturers should be proud when one of their vehicles is so durable and reliable

I dont know if my car can last a million miles even though I would like it if it did since I have the car of my dreams and dont want to get another car for a very long time wich is a 09 45th special anniversery convertible mustang and the color is vista blue wich I just love. So I would love it if it could last a million miles lol.

That's very interesting. I have to wonder in amazement because I've never managed more than about 225k miles in one car.
