Cracked windshield

While I was pg w/ my son about 2 yrs ago on my way to my Dr appt a small stone got kicked up on the freeway and hit my van. I didn't think it did any damage, a few days later I saw a tiny crack and bout had a heartattack. Well we let it go and let it go. So now it's in the shape of how they had you as a kid draw birds similar to this bracket } , ya know that wavey line. It doesn't impair my driving but it keeps cracking just a lil bit further and further as the weather changes & time wears on.
Do you think it's a good idea to replace it? It in no way impairs my vision. And other than hubby thinking it's durability is way down, I don't see the point just yet.
Then to my other question if we were to trade the van (not that we will, but if it comes down to it) would a cracked windshield really depreciate your trade-in value?
