Well water to be used for drinking purpose. Any tips...

Nowadays the lack of drinking water problem is hitting hard to us. What happens is that, We get water once in three days. But our water supply line have damaged. But we have a very good society. Every one know each other. We can take water from others tap. But the problem is that, getting water for two hours in three days, so they need the water for themselves, though they provide water, but its not comfortable to them as well as for us. We have a personal well. But due to the lack of rain and as this is dry season, the water level is too low and that's why dirty too. What the fact is that we are using well water only for other purpose than drinking. Now we will get raining season within a month or two. And sure the water level on the well will rise. But still we don't use it for drinking. So now, I wonder if it can be used safely for drinking purpose. So any tip on filtering or any other methods if you have please share with me in this thread...
