My "Dirty Addictions" discussion leads me to this question. So many people smoke, including myself, and we all are well aware of the health risks. Some even claim to "like" to smoke.
For me, I think it is because I am such a figity person. I get bored very quickly and almost need my hands to be busy!!
Why do you smoke?? Or better yet? Why havn't you quit??

I smoke, it started out of curiosity. I actually enjoy it. It relieves my tension and stress. I have smoked for about 1 1/2 - 2 years. I don't think that I am addicted to it, because I can go weeks without smoking, without craving one or getting withdrawl symptoms. The reason I haven't quit is because I enjoy doing it. It hasn't given me any breathing problems or cardiac problems, so I don't see the point in quiting just yet.

Honey...If you are not addicted. Quit now before you are. I swear, it happens without you even knowing it. One day, you will just realize that you have been smoking for so long and that you are addicted.

i'm a graduate of psychology and since smoking involves the mouth it was believed that since the mother's nipple was a source of food and comfort for an infant anything that is related to the mouth gives us a sense of comfort. that is why some people smoke when they become tense, some eat a lot under stress...
