..the cousin you've been close with for pretty much your whole life asks you to be the USHER at her wedding? I was slightly appalled when my cousin asked me to be the USHER of her wedding rather than someone of actual importance, such as a bridesmaid.
Would you be offended in this situation?
Have you ever been dissed like this?

Yes, I would be really mad. You should ask her why, maybe there is a good reason. I can't remember an incident, but I'm sure there is one :p

She made up the excuse that it was because she didn't think I'd want to wear a light purple dress (the color she'd want her bridesmaids to wear). But then she asked my sister, who's a total tomboy, to be her maid of honor. Quite hypocritical. But oh well. Thanks for your input! I'm glad to know it's not just me.

the important thing is that you are involved in the wedding. Who knows why people do what they do? you were not snubbed if you were involved. There is no more or less status in the positions in the wedding. The way I see it, wedding involvement falls into four categories.
Bride and Groom
Their Families
Those involved in the ceremony
Guests
No one is above or below the other. It takes all four cetegories to have a wedding.
