Irritability and the weather

I had a question pertaining to the seasons of the year in which I was wondering between summer and winter as to what time of year makes you feel more irritable.
I know that there are those that would rather take the summer over the winter for obvious reasons.
The summer can be a pleasant time of year with vacation time and many other things to do like swimming, games, etc.
I actually prefer the winter time because the summer heat does not agree with me too much especially if it gets too humid.
In the winter I can bundle up better and I seem to feel better all the way around. So I would say that I am more irritable during the summer months.

when it gets hot and humid, i tend to get grumpy because i have breathing problems due to my asthma. i dislike the hot summer and since we don't have central air, it gets really hot in our house. although i like being outside, sometimes it doesnt like me and i am like you, i like the winter.

Summer is alright as long as it's not too hot. I'm in Ohio so the summers are fairly mild with only a few hot days but those days I am VERY irritable! I love the other 3 seasons and rarely get irritated at the weather during those seasons.
I don't get too irritated, though, because having 4 seasons again is such a treat. I just remember the months and months of punishing heat in Arizona for nearly 3 decades, the horrible and ugly scrub and all the stickers, stingers and poisonous animals and I embrace the summer happily!

I'M THE SAME WAY ABOUT THE SUMMER. AT LEAST IN THE WINTER U CAN KEEP ADDING CLOTHES TILL U ARE WARM. U CAN'T KEEP TAKING THEM OFF IN THE SUMMER TO STAY COOL. LOL. I THINK THAT'S AGAINIST THE LAW.

Oh yes I like the winter as you can wear tons of clothes if needed. In the summer you see people that should have on more but don't. Plus when it is to hot I get crabby and when it is to cold I just cover up. You have a wonderful day. Your friend onlydia

The weather doesn't make me irritable, it gives me a headache. I live where the barometric pressure changes often and very rapidly. This happpenes all year long
and I get a headache every time. It's a good thing I can take a medication for it.

There is a disorder called S.A.D. (Seaonal Affective Disorder), but generally people with this disorder become more depressed/anxious during the winter times when they are without the sunlight hours that we have during the summer. I'm not sure if it would work the other way, but you could ask about it.
I also thinkthe temperature has a lot to do with the summer irritability though. I know if I get too warm I can't stand people hugging on me, getting too close, etc.

I definitely am more irritable in the summer, as you said, with the humidity. The only great thing is that I can go get in the water and cool down. Summer is coming and I do not like that hottest bit.

I hate both, the summer it is very humid here and in the winter it is damp and the cold gets down to bones and I just can't stand it.

I am also more irritable in the summer. In Georgia it is terrible humidity that gets me. I am OK with high temperatures as long as the humidity is low.

The shine in my eyes and my general energy dims in the winter. Cold, frosty weather just dampens my spirit alot and it makes me wanna hibernate until I can be more active. I dislike feeling cooped up, and that's basically what winter does -- force me to stay inside alot more.
Summer, while I dislike the humidity a ton, is a time where I'm more active than any other season...so I can't really dislike it, and my energy's always high around then, just like it is during the spring and autumn.
But then I'm not a grumpy person by nature and I don't get very irritated easily.

People from hot places don't feel good with work as with work you will produce more heat and more heat means more irritation. While in winter places, you need to work hard to get your body warm up so that it can negate the cold condition.
So, it is a fact that people like winter places and they are more encouraged to work hard to get their body temparature up to the mark.
I also like winter time more than summer but we are getting only 2 months of winter with 6 months of summer!

Summer would be fun, however i feel so irritable because of the heat that it brings. In our country we don't have winter instead we have rainy season. Even though it is not hot when the rainy season comes I feel irritable also because of the typhoon that it brings and also the flood. When it rains in our country what normally happen is, flood is everywhere so i got irritable also and got nothing to do almost the season since it's raining outside outdoor activities can not be enjoyed. Gladly, dvd was invented and we can watch the whole day inside our homes.

Hi bamakelly,It is obvious that people in the West would prefer summer but in this part of the Universe the Winter is the most welcomed season. Summer is like hell, heat, humidity, sweating, sunstroke, diseases, rain and what not? I really do not like the summer season. Most of my childhood memories are attached with winter season only. The soft Sun, the warmth of the quilt, the coats, sweater and carefree journey and so many. It is really nice.
