Have you ever seen or heard about a person who has had a bad experience and is not living a normal life after that. examle a car accident leaving a person disabled, or illnes leaving a person with cronic medical condition. I have never heard of dialysis treatment and I never though i would become croniccaly ill. Now I have to recieve dialysis treatment because my kidneys failed. I had two transplants but both rejected. I have been on treatment fo many years now but still can't believe such a thing could happen to me. Things only happen to other people, until they happen to you. Then you are the other person. We are all the other people and things can happen to you. Live everyday with what you have and enjoy it. Tommorow it might be gone. cronic treatment is hell, I wish for no one to have it.

Hi Beertjie, I feel for you. I have a friend who has 15% kidney function and is going to need a transplant probably very soon if her kidneys keep deteriorating at this rate. It is true that when we hear of illness, accidents etc we tend to dismiss them as incidents that can only happen to others until it touches us! We often heard about cancer for example and we didn't pay much attention to other's stories until cancer touched our family and we lost a dear family member late last year. We were in disbelief; this kind of thing does not happen to us! Well we were humbled because these things can indeed happen to anyone and should not be taken for granted. I am sorry that you are so ill and I wish for you to get better real soon and if you have another transplant it will work and life will improve. Let us know how you go.

Hi Paula, sorry to hear about your friend. Hope the transplant come soon. Have you concidered becomming an organ donor that when you die others can get your organs and recieve new health? So many people want to become donors but never make the effort, until it is too late and the organs go to the grave. I know there are people who are against it because of believes or other reasons, and I respect that. How do you feel about organ donation?

I think I will sign up. It saves lives and I know if I or one of my loved ones needed a life saving organ I would be very grateful for a donor. Hope things work out for you!

Oooh, I hope you get well soon. :-) As you have said, some people think, "this/that could never happen to me" until it actually happens. :-) I think life has a funny way of teaching people things. :-) During the good times and the bad times, we must always be grateful for what we have received. I believe that the difficult times in life are given to test us. :-) It is just like the saying, "what does not kill us, only makes us strong." :-) You may be at a point in your life when your strength is being tested. So the best thing you can do is, put up a good and strong fight. :-) You can do it! :-)
