I was looking fwd to this rummage sale since last year. And on a fluke someone mentioned craigslist & lowe and behold there was the ad for this rummage! I was so excited! I wish I had more money & a bigger house!! Tomorrow is half price day though..... I figured if I waited til tomorrow the items I wanted would not be there. I mainly went for kids clothes and yarn. I cleaned them out on the majority of the yarn they had! Seriously they sell this stuff for so cheap and this was the only rummage I seem to find yarn at. So I came away with several pairs of jeans in the next size up for DD1, an outfit for DD2, some pants for DS. Yarn my favorite purchase of course! And they have lots of other craft items and decor items I liked. Even better my aunt wants me to come into town by her for a rummage near her. Wich is good because she said they have a good selection and decent prices.... + my aunt will usually treat if its things for my kids (she has no kids of her own so she spoils mine ! YAY!) SO do you love to patron rummage sales like I do? Are you able to go all year long? Here we are only able to go from April - Sept mainly. But right now are when the churches do their big sales.

Love a good rummage sale. Yeah sometimes I do enjoy rummage sales b/c you can find unusual items there if you have a good eye for that type of thing. Sometimes the stuff might be very valuable. But I haven't lucked up like that yet to find a painting or something that's really valuable. But I'm always hopeful.......Good luck!

I thought I found something somewhat valuable last year as I recognized the painting but of course it's a print and it was in horrid shape. But the fun is in never knowing what you'll find ;)

So true! iT'S always so much fun when you have a friend that can go there with you. I used to love going with my family but i don't go there so much anymore since I've moved away. The rummage sales are still all around but I don't enjoy it so much going out there alone. Anyways, I might go soon...... Good luck in ur findings!

I usually don't get to go alone. I'm a brave soul hustling past the crowds in a double stroller ;0) Wich is more worth wild to take everyone for a Church rummage anyways. I don't go to neighborhood sales unless hubby is with or I have say 1 kid or on my own. Gets to be a PITA to unhook everyone from carseats only to find they don't have anything that you are looking for or that things are priced way way too high (ie wanting Goodwill or e-bay prices).

Not every church rummage is a good deal though. There's one that tries to sell things for nearly thrift store prices on day one. So you have to wait for bag day to make it worth your wild even then their bags are $5 wich isn't bad but most others are like $2-3.

i do like to go to yard/garage/rummage sales because many times, we can get stuff much cheaper than even in the thrift stores. i am with you because i really like church rummage sales because usually the prices are good and the selection is better.

Plus with kids getting bigger it's easier to run across the bigger sizes (you know over 3t) for a reasonable price. Only hard part is going with your kids either they won't let you look OR they are begging for something junkie.

By the time I see sales, it's usually over! But thank you for mentioning the Craig's list thing, I will check it out! We have a new bed bug epidemic here so I won't buy bedding or furniture but I'm in the market for a breadmaker!

I usually look on craigslist or online @ the local classifieds. Or I have my usual route around town that I find the most rummages off certain main streets & I go that way. No Bed Bug epidemics here but things still get washed up with vinegar & soap.

I know just what u mean. It's hard enough when you have to haul around just one stroller filled with baby and it's contents..can remember the daze just like it was yesterday..... Anyways I'm gonna be having a yard sale soon, do you have any good tips you'd like to share? Also just wondering you ever hold them yourself?
