ooooh, I just heard the news. Someone in my own city has the flu.. no, not just a flu, but THE flu. You know, not the ones that lead to the deaths of about 100 Americans a day.. no, that would just be that "every day" humdrum, boring flu.
No, this kid has come down with THE flu... the one that has (or hasn't) lead to the deaths of single digits all over the planet.
So, let's see, what to do, what to do? Should I take Prs. Obama's advice and wash my hands, pay more attention to personal hygene and if I feel sick don't go to work? Or should I take VP Biden's advise and stay away from enclosed spaces like public transportation?
I think I'll just treat this thing like what it is... a flu... and I think I'll just let the rest of the world freak out while I laugh.
Of course, I don't laugh at anyone who gets this flu, since actually having it is tragic, and no one needs to be laughed about while they are sick.

You are so right.....I think that they are making it out to be a whole lot worst than it actually is. The Big pharmaceutical company's are the only ones that are going to be making out. Every one is going to be scared into paying for those new flu shots...That will probably be making everyone sick just because they got the shot.

Our governor just issued a medical state of emergency. What a geek!

well, in Mexico, there have been some double digit deaths, but I think the fear of it all is that this is related to the "flu" that killed so many back in the teens and they got all in a panic over in 1976.
There is also some fear because rather than just incubating in the bird population like most flus, its also doing it in the swine population, a less common form.
Having said all this, and knowing they've closed a few schools here in Austin, I'm still not going to worry about it.
Worry causes cancer, well, ulcers anyway.
