I went for milk with my parents yesterday so that i'd have milk for my two lil ones this morning, i was running low. and this morning when i went to open the milk.. the big 4l jug has already been opened!! who the %$#%# opens milk in the store and puts it back.. I wont drink it because what if someone put something in it. idiots i tell ya. people are such idiots!! now.. my stepdad works in the day.. so either i gotta go all day with no milk, or i gotta get on the bus possibley in the rain (hopefully it rains to help with the still burning fire) and lug around this 4l milk.. sigh. I guess going till dinner time with only juice and water wont hurt them for one day right ? i'm ranting cause i'm mad.. but i think i'm about done now..
I called the grocery store and they told me they had a few others returned that where opened already too.. i asked cause it seems suspicious to me.. Is there anyone else besides the lady making min wage at customer service i could call to find out who is doing that and if they are putting contaminants in the milk or just being jacka... donkeys ?
*sigh* *deep breath in* *deep breath out*
ahh that feels better. thanks for listening mylot, now i can move on with my day.

That's creepy! I'm glad you didn't drink it. It's so inconvenient to have to go back to the store and costly, too. I wonder if there was anything put in it?

That would be scary going on the bus with the kids especially if it's right by the fire! *Crosses fingers* here's hoping you can get a ride from someone!

Oh my gosh. I have never heard of such a thing or seen such a thing. I would be shocked to see that, to be honest. And I worked in the retail business for two years, at a major box grocery store. I don't know that I would believe someone if they were to return it the next day, but if I were you I would give it a try. Although it is tough for you to take it back, I still would, out of principal.
I wouldn't be surprised if it is some disgrunted employee going around opening them. Or some idiot kid or customer just being a smart a??. But you are right in not drinking it. I would also be mad especially since you didn't get to eat cereal in the morning or get to drink any.
Isn't mylot wonderful for getting out your frustrations. It is one of the reasons why I am active here. I can get the stress out and forget about it and move on.

i did take it back, and they said there were a few other cases of it happening that week. so i'm not sure if its someone in the store doing it or something going to the store.. but hopefully the milk company will look into and and make sure no one is putting anything INTO the milk.. either at teh company or at teh store.
Mylot is GREAT for venting, although i'm sure if i complain too much instead of making some other types of discussions people would get sick of answering them :P
I try to keep positive, but sometimes, you just needa get a little something off your chest!

I would call the manager, or the stores main office.

I have to agree that I would never have touched that milk that was already opened either. I tell you I would not only be complaining at the store I would be complaining to a food standards agency, environmental health , whoever I could get to listen and I would be trying to get someone to test it too to see if anything had been added to it! I would be ranting too sweety but as you say it would be a lot of hassle to get more milk right now and one day should be fine! Hugs xx

UGH! I feel your pain hon, I truly do!
You COULD contact the local news about the milk issue at that store, because if it IS something more than just a bored, unsupervised kid opening the milk because of nothing better to do, then if others contact the newsroom, there could be a story and important information to give to the local public. Granted, it's rather minor compared to the big fire right now (I saw some video footage on the Weather Network last night).
I guess that from now on, every time you buy milk, you'll be checking to make sure it's unopened, eh? I do that with margarine (open the lid to make sure chunks aren't missing, or fingerprints in it, etc lol), and I check eggs in the cartons all the time as well. I'm not paying for broken eggs. I'm cheap that way.

I sure will be checking, and i do check the eggs too, but never thought about the butter.. but i've never had that happen.. *knocking on wood*
The fire is undercontroll now and most ppl that have homes to go back to are able to go back. it was quite the fire... i was a littel scared alst night when they said they were just going to let it burn.. over 1000acres is burned up.

Wow that is pretty scary buying milk that has already been opened. I wouldn't be drinking it either, especially with 2 little ones! Hopefully you can get a ride to the store and get some milk, I doubt it would kill them to only have juice and water for one day sissy! LoL!

hha yes its true.. the lady at customer service said that the milk goes back to the company.. i HOPE they do not reuse that milk for like yogurt or something.. god.. companies are so stingy.. they never want to waste anything.. i hope they just dump it.. makes me cringe thinking about it.

I don't understand why some people will break seals, it sounds juvenille to me. I think but am not certain that I might have done that when I was younger, but really now it's just creepy. You never know who had their hands on it and what exactly they did with it, either. Well glad you didn't drink it or let your little one's drink it, you should get a free jug for that!

Hey Sissy! Now that is really strange! You called the store
and they tell you that there were other incidents where the
milks were also opened! That would be rather suspicious to
me! You would think that the store would do some checking
themselves! It might have something to do with all that
confusion with the fires, but why would the milks be open?
I would return the milk there and get milk somewhere else if
possible! That is really weird and unsettling! I don't blame
you for being upset and I certainly don't blame you for not
touching the milk!
